  1. Properly localize Windows/Microsoft account

I am having troubles properly localizing my Microsoft account/Windows 10.

I currently have several devices (inluding my laptop, a surface go and a couple android devices) all associated with a Microsoft account which I own since a very long time.

This accont was created on the russian microsoft site (it ends with @live.ru). However I've been living in another country for a long time now (all of my devices are *not* in russian) and would like to use the account in another language (italian).

I have changed the settings to my desired language and region in both Windows and Microsoft account pages but for whatever reason Windows 10 is assuming I want to use russian for some things (example: auto-generated album names in Photos app, the default OneDrive folders like Photo Roll and Screenshots and so on. It even translated my user folders names to russian when I enabled OneDrive sync on the surface go, which has been quite a pain to fix).

Creating a new account is not really an option for me because there is a *lot* of data on this account. Is there any other way? Something I missed?

    :)

  2. Local account installation question

I'm fairly certain that Skip this step was available in 10.0.130 - the workaround in Step 20 (back button) is no longer required.

The currently known, as of 10.0.130, ways to create a Local account sign-in are
    • Skip this step at the MS account creation phase
    • No Internet connection during the install
    • static IP (post# 2 by Fragment) - New (to me anyway)

Strange Windows 10 User Account issue.

Unfortunately I had done those steps numerous reboots, it just, reappears for no good reason. The base account isn't even a Microsoft account, it's a local account.

I haven't quite tried the built in administrator account on W10, but so far in my experience on my own computer, the built in account seemed to have absolutely no more control than I did on my own.

It's just strange, I go in, it warns me twice about deleting the account, then it's gone. Reboot, and it's back?

EDIT: Just to specify, both command line and Netplwiz both say only HIS account exists on the computer, it doesn't list this rogue account. This is what I meant in my first post about the fact that even Windows doesn't seem to believe it exists, HALF the time. *Frown Properly localize Windows/Microsoft account :(

With a Microsoft account you can then use OneDrive and Office Online apps for free. You can also use built-in native Windows apps which require a Microsoft account like Mail, Skype Preview, People, Calendar and download apps from Windows Store.

See steps 3 to 5 in this tutorial to continue using local account as Windows sign-in account even when / if you download apps from store and / or use Windows apps requiring a Microsoft account, to avoid Windows user account converting to Microsoft account: Store - Use when Signing in to Windows 10 with Local Account - Windows 10 Forums
