Windows 10: Reg/batch to disable "Open File - Security Warning"

Ya it works as you noted. Beside loosing memory I seem to be loosing my mind.

 

BrinK, as noted before, for some reason I only get Most used. I'll try "All apps in Start menu - Open and Use in Windows 10". Thank You both for try to help me!!!

 

LOL, I can relate to losing your mind as well at times. *Wink

Depending on what you are seeing in your Start menu all apps list, you may need to scroll down a bit more to see it.

 

Well I tried I left clicked on the window got the partial apps and clicked on setting and basicly now where. May there is a virus on my machine that neither Windows Defender or Malwarebtye can

find

 

Dang the first file I loaded did not appear this is that one

 

One thing today did was increase my posting I think it was 28 now it will be 45, whooope I guess?

 

I'm now guessing the I may have to somehow erase/wright over the existing Windows and reinstall it.

Okay I got it pined now I will scroll back to find out what in need to do. I just tried to go to an open folder on the drive that would not open from the right side and it got the same error. I guess that drive is dying, here is the error message:

 

That error indicates that your M: drive has bad sectors on it, so it may not be dead.

You might try running disk check on the drive to scan for errors to see what it reports.

Well I've run "Disable_Zone_Checking_for_All_Users.bat" and "Enable_Zone_Checking_for_Current_User.bat" twice, but I'm stile getting the Open File - Security Warning. The first time I try to save something like a zip file from the interned there is a 10 to 12 second delay before the naming the item opens. This also happens with several other application like Excel. Seems strange to me. At least it only happens once until the next day or a restart. Gee other the those things are working fine. I have been saving automobile pictures for years and it had become a real pain when sorting and have to deal with that interruption before I can open an image.

 

Thanks I just downloaded it and will try to fix the drive. There were a couple of errors earlier that may have caused the issue.

Just to note, that if you run the "Enable_Zone_Checking_for_Current_User.bat", it will enable "Open File - Security Warning" again.

 

I've gotten no where today, I tried several disk repairs all found nothing wrong and the stupid Open File - Security Warning is still in effect and I can only access the M drive with a desk top shortcut. I have to get some work done today. I think it was around half time of the 1st play off game today when I started trying to fix things. None of the Administrator stuff worked either. My Dell computer started acting up within days of my warranty expiring. There is just something really wrong with this machine!
I will try again tomorrow. As always I really appreciate yours and other folks.

 

I copied all the files off the troubled drive to another external drive. Currently I am formatting (not a quick format) that drive. What is still driving me nuts is the stupid (to me) Open File - Security Warning. Of course I constantly uncheck "Always ask..." What is really strange is from groups if files downloaded at the same time a few do not get the notice when opened. I've tried coping a file and then pasting in a different folder and the "Always ask..." pops up. Is there a way unmark a file as being down loaded from the net?
