Glad you fixed it. Now maybe others will follow your lead of actually looking for the problem and fixing it like you did!

  2. I have never actually used the store before, but tried it just now as per your suggestion. I am always signed into my microsoft account, and could see my avatar/profile picture at the top of the store indicating I still was. Upon opening the store, the same window as before saying 'Please wait' flickers in and out of existence, before stopping at 4 or 5 attempts. I tried to install a free app but was greeted with the message below.

I've tried a few of the suggested fixes for this I found online, including resetting the windows store cache, re-registering all the apps, running the microsoft store diagnostic tool, adding my birthday to my profile (it was already there), but to no avail.

After trying these things I came across another suggestion, to sign out of the store, attempt to install an app, and sign back in when prompted. This gave the following error.

  5. Hello WhiteBloodCell,

Hmmm...possibly a corrupt user profile. Try signing out of the user profile your having Microsoft validation issues with. Then, switch Windows User Account, go back to the create MS account page, create another MS account, see if you can then sign-in.

Another option is to call Microsoft and have them delete all your accounts, you may have a corrupt MS account. *Eek

Finally, try using a different computer to sign in to MS.

What, you say none of my suggestions worked. *Mad

  6. Called Microsoft in the end. The solution was to temporarily convert to a local account (Settings->Accounts->Sign in with a local account instead), without setting a password for it (don't think it matters though) when it prompts you to create one. I created a new local account as I didn't have one previously. Restart the computer. Open up the Store and sign in with my Microsoft account (I was prompted to create a pin for my account when I did, again don't think you have to though). Switch the local account back to my Microsoft account (Settings->Accounts->Sign in with a Microsoft account instead). So the store issue is fixed, and hopefully the notification issue also. Haven't seen it in the 10 mins since I did the above.

Hopefully this solution can help others.

I also use only the Local Account and had the same problem with this toast notification, every time I signed in.
As @Clintlgm has mentioned, repeating notification - Windows 10 Forums, I solved the problem by doing the following:

Go to: Settings > Privacy > General
Set to OFF “Let apps on my other devices open apps and continue experiences on this device”
Set to OFF “Let apps on my other devices use Bluetooth to open apps and continue experiences on this device”

Glad to hear you have it sorted. If you have any more problems with your MS account in the future, just start a new thread. We can consider this issue closed.

  11. It has absolutely nothing to do with your account. It has to do with Cortana and MS no being able to access all your contacts, camera, microphone, location, and advertising ID. If you turn any of these 'OFF' for a single app, or off completely, you will notified that your account needs to be fixed. When you click on the notification you will be asked for your PIN or password, after that it will reset all those privacy settings back to their default state, ALL OF THEM WILL BE ON.

Follow the instructions in the notification. Reboot. The notifications will be gone. To get the notifications back you only need to turn off a single privacy option. Go to Settings/Privacy click on any of those categories and turn off ONE single setting, and the 'Fix your MS account notifications' will return after your next reboot.

    Same here.
MS have forced out an update without regard for the variety of users. Many have no issues with their account, but MS don't care about this.
They have obviously sent out updates without thorough testing, and caused their users a lot of grief.
How about changing the message to include a "don't show this message again" check-box?

Me as well...only local accounts, I do not use any "windows apps." All my apps are Windows software, desktop versions (including Skype). I do have a Microsoft Account, and sometimes I use the email from browser only (mostly for spam).

It's June 2017 and this annoying message still pops up upon login. I don't know if MS has gone insane or they're doing this intentionally - trying to grab personal info for commercial purposes - but if this doesn't get sorted out, I'll never buy Windows again. I'm not that interested on games and with the new platform agnostic APIs like Vulkan I don't think even that will be a consideration.
I payed for a license key, I installed the product and now I want to use it, so LEAVE ME ALONE MICROSOFT!

Or you could have read three posts above yours, from August 2016 (yes, almost a year old), pointing to an easy and clear solution.
