Windows 10: Reset WIN10 SERVICES ?

Hello. Ive recently acquired / bought a "new" Pc from a retail store - WIN10.

WIN10 HOME. Version 10.0.17763 build 17763

64 bit system

my internet speed is VERY fast - 90-100 MBPS speed (i can watch 5 movies at once with no problems.. though i'm only watching 1 TV show now, & i dont have 5 devices)

HOWEVER my new win10 PC is VERY slow.

1) put a search term in the http bar at the top of the browser - this goes to google search
2) I wait... wait... wait..
3) i get up, go to the front door - look outside
4) Pc is STILL loading up the google search page (blank screen now)
5) I go to the kitchen, get a drink
6) I come back to the PC/lounge - get fly spray & try & unsuccessfully kill a bothersome pest

Google is STILL loading

7) I go to the loo.. Come back & now the page is "nearly" loaded - but still finishing off. (after 5-10 minutes).

Im looking at the TASK MANAGER & see dozens/dozens of 'services'..

QUESTION: Is there a quick way to "reset" the services to remove them all, except the bare minimum to make the PC work ?

and then - ASK me - if i want to add more services - EG - for processes that i want/need.. Im guessing that 1 or more of the services is making the PC slow.

Ive run the batch programme - Find ANY Problem Devices . . . - No problems found.

Win10: windows update stuck at never ending loop ?

When in win10:

• Update&security -> Windows update -> Finding update... .... .... ....

Planning to download the latest Win10.ISO (vers.1803) and manually update:
- Then wait that my ordered new SSD arrives and clone the old HDD to it.

Thank you john for all of your help i decided to get the usb my computer came with and factory reset it i didnt have anything that personal or valueable so its ok thanks for the help though i appreciate it

 

windows defender & security center services keep turning off


Are you running any other AV or did you have one running in the past? If you didn't use an uninstaller for the AV, then the remnants of it could be causing the problem. Normally any time you install an AV it disables Defender by default.

If you are getting any error codes please list those, that will be helpful in helping you.

As torre suggested, might be a good idea to do a reset or even a reinstall.
