Right click context menu of Windows 10 is excrutiatingly slow in taskbar

    Hello,

Running Windows 10, latest update (08.08.) and latest drivers on an Asus Zenbook 14 (i5 CPU). I recently had to restore Windows, ever since then the context menu of some applications is extremely slow.

When I right click on apps on the taskbar, they usually open the context menu of every application ( un/pin, recent documents, other settings).

This works fine for all applications in less than a second EXCEPT for Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook. Whenever I try to open the context menu of Office Apps it takes 20-30 seconds to open the recently used documents.

I've already re-installed Office and Onedrive to no avail. Any suggestions?

    :)

    Feature suggestion: Add right-click menu

Suggestion: Please add a Windows 7 Jump-List and/or right-click menu to the GPU-Z icon in the Windows taskbar. Possible menus in it would be "Exit" and "About GPU-Z...".
Maybe also "Switch to tab 1/Switch to tab 2/Switch to videocard 1/Switch to videocard 2" too.
Examples of programs that have such menus are ICQ, Skype, AIM.

NOTE: It seems for a right-click menu, Windows 7 is not needed - it works on WinXP and Vista too.
But even a Windows 7 Jump-list may be good enough.
    What do you think?

  3. Taskbar Explorer right click context menu slow (not just explorer)

    Hi,

so one thing i can't seem to solve is that right clicking on explorer or most other applications (i think) is slow on windows 10.
I have used this before: 7+ Taskbar Tweaker - RaMMicHaeL's Blog
And this solves that completely, it's instant.
Problem is, some applications doesn't work, like Visual Studio Code i simply don't get any context menu last i tried at least.

I think the problem lies in it's generation of pinned items and jump lists, so it have to wait for information before creating the actual menu.
Cause i think it got sped up quite a bit in other programs if i deactivated the jump list somewhere in settings.
However explorer is always slow cause of the pinned items (i think).

It's really frustrating and i have decided to ask here in hope that someone knows something,
cause i can't find a solution. Hopefully it's just me missing something obvious.

ThanksRight click context menu of Windows 10 is excrutiatingly slow in taskbar :)!

Right click context menu of Windows 10 is excrutiatingly slow in taskbar

Bluetooth + right click on taskbar?

#2: I think you're referring to the immersive context menu.
    Please see
    https://www.askvg.com/tip-get-rid-of...ws-10-taskbar/
    - but I doubt you'll be able to use that in your situation, for the same reason.

    Then there's this:
Enable or Disable Taskbar Context Menus in Windows 10 | Windows 10 Tutorials

I don't find this is particularly slow- nor for program icons- jump lists, frequent, tasks.

You might be able to use this:
How to Increase the Number of Jump List Items in Windows 10
to limit (rather than increase) the number shown. I don't know if that would help you.
