  1. Shutdown of Windows 10 for no known reason after Windows Upgrade to version 1903

    1. I recently updated Win 10 to version 1903. Since the update, my PC shutdowns each day for no known reason. obviously its a software or hardware issue. I first looked at the software.

    2. I looked at corrupt files, so I used sfc/SCANNOW. It couldnt repair all the files, so I went into the DISM command tool to repair Windows 10 image and then went back to sfc/SCANNOW and sfc fixed the files.

    3. I tried to see if that was it, but it shutdown after a while of operation with about 4 programs.

    4. I thought it may be a power problem. I looked on the internet for similar problems and came across this in the microsoft forum:

    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-performance/windows-10-shutdown-for-no-reason/a33cd587-2b2e-4135-b966-f2f460e572a6

I did everything that the microsoft specialist suggested. I opened Power options and in the advanced power options i set the max cpu speed to 99%. I also changed the power option from performance to balanced. It still shutdown after about 4 hrs.

    5. Hardware I thought it may be the Intel cpu or the corsair power supply. I just replaced the power supply about 6 months ago after 6 years of use. BTW, the PC I build myself in 2013, has a intel i7 4770 cpu. I thought the hardware may be failing. I have 5 hard drives in the case and I checked the temperature of the hard drives using Crystaldiskinfo. One HD was failing, so I took that out, maybe a HD would be causing the problem, but perhaps not. My focus went to the cpu. I peruse the Intel site to see how to troubleshoot the cpu for overheating.

I will see if any of this trouble shooting works. I suspect it is the overheating cpu ( at what temperature does the intel i7 4770 shutdown Windows 10?). I also went into Event Viewer to see at what time the shutdowns was occurring.

Well, the above is perhaps too much information, but what would you do? If the hardware troubleshooting does not pan out...I may need to restore my PC prior to the Windows upgrade to version 1903 as a last resort....and if that doesnt work I may have to restall the OS. Thanks any other suggestions that I have not thought of.

    :)

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

Windows 10 upgrade problem, no input accepted

I really hate having to come here and ask for help, but I really am stumped. It hurts my geek pride. I have a PC with fairly modern hardware in it. It has a p8p67 pro in it. I have tried upgrading windows 10 on it twice now. Both times I have had the same result.

After windows finishes upgrading it goes to the log in/set up screen. I can't do anything. No keyboard or mouse input is accepted.

I will list some, or hopefully all, of the troubleshooting steps I have tried:
    • Move keyboard and mouse to different USB ports.
    • Try different keyboard or mouse.
    • Restart computer, repeatedly.
    • Google for related issues.
    • Update Bios, because why not.
    • Create boot media and revert to windows 7.
The windows 10 system restore boot media works fine with keyboard and mouse. All USB ports work in windows 7. I don't know what is wrong. I suspect that windows 10 is lacking a driver of some sort, but since the computer accepts no input I have no way of checking for which driver let alone installing it.

Please help me figure this out. If I have to revert back to windows 7 again, I am not going to get it upgraded to windows 10. Thank you in advanced.

Local profile issue after upgrading to 1903

    Hi roblinb

    Not listed in the Known.

Known issues for Windows 10 May 2019 Update version 1903

As far as Wifi any chance it is Qualcom inside USB adapter, if Qualcom then yes known issue.

I might create another user (Local) and when if try again see if this issue occurs on both users.

Would also suggest you run the first 5 steps in this tutorial to see if you have any corruption with current build.

Use DISM to Repair Windows 10 Image
