Windows 10: Siemens Solid Edge 2019 does not work on Windows 1903

I am using the professional CAD program Solid Edge of Siemens version 2019.

It is specially designed to run on Windows 10.

However up to Windows version 1809 I was able to run it without any problems.

Then the 1903 update came and it suddenly won't start anymore with the message that the application environment cannot be started.

I know that the program is very precise in its software environtment to operate well. But i cannot find a reason why it doesnt work.

I am having a Nvidia Quadro 600 video card as well which is good enough.

The support of SE does also not know the reason for this problem.

Is there a way to set all the graphical software and other supporting (Direct X or whatever) back to the situation of 1809 or earlier?

Windows is pushing to update to 1903 on other computers as well but now I know I have to block it for installing.


Does anybody know the Windows environmental settings that are required to run Solid edge 2019 propperly?

Only supported on Win10. Sorry, 8.1 users, only 4 years old, gotta go.

As far as Wifi any chance it is Qualcom inside USB adapter, if Qualcom then yes known issue.


I might create another user (Local) and when if try again see if this issue occurs on both users.

Would also suggest you run the first 5 steps in this tutorial to see if you have any corruption with current build.

Edge Search Does Not Permit Change of Region


I got these suggestions from the Microsoft Community forum.No. 1 worked for me:

Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community. I am glad to assist you on this.
We have reproduce the issue here and we are able to access non-regional search for google using Microsoft Edge.
I would suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.
Step 1:
Clear browsing data option of Microsoft Edge and check if you face the issue. To do so perform the steps below.

1. Click on the More actions icon next to the feedback icon present on top right corner of the Project Spartan homepage.
2. Select Settings and click on Choose what to clear.
3. Check the boxes Browsing history, Cookies and saved website data and Cached data and files and click on Clear.

Step 2:
I suggest you to create a new user account and check if the issue occurs.

1. Go to Settings.
2. Choose Accounts and then select Family and other users.
3. Select add someone else on this PC.
4. Enter a user name and hit next.
5. Click on Finish.
6. Sign out from the current Account and Log into the new account.

Step 3:
It could also happen because of network issue. I suggest you to try with different network connection and check if it helps.
