Some settings are managed by your organization. Type: Mobile Device Management. Malware?...

    Hello,

I would really appreciate some help. As you can see below, there are a myriad of properties that are not under my control. This is a private computer that I built. I also have a fully licensed and legal copy of windows that I bought

I tried doing the registry edit and group edit fixes that are in tutorials out there, but obviously none of these worked, because the type is Mobile Device Management. I ran a scan with malware bytes and it did not find anything malicious, but something is wrong. I also uninstalled malware bytes because I know that can cause problems sometimes with windows anti-virus (one of the many things I am not able to access or change).

  2. Some settings are managed by your organization. Type: Mobile Device Management. Malware? HELP!

Hi Ivan. I'm Greg, an installation specialist, 10 year Windows MVP, and Volunteer Guardian Moderator here to help you.

    1) If you don't have Pro version where Group Policy has been set to manage settings, then it could be a bug, possible caused by your antivirus. So I'd first uninstall your Anti-virus to try running with built-in Defender which always offers best Windows performance
with least issues, and is from Microsoft who knows how to protect their OS best.

    2) See other fixes for this specific error here:

    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/protect/for...

    https://www.windowsdigital.com/your-virus-and-t...

    https://www.xtremerain.com/some-settings-are-ma...

    https://superuser.com/questions/947755/some-set...

    https://www.kapilarya.com/some-settings-are-man...

    https://blog.pcrisk.com/windows/12584-some-sett...

Usually one of these fixes will resolve it.

    3) This can be caused by Account corruption. You can test for account corruption by creating a new Admin Local Account by the same name in Settings > Accounts > Family & Other People, sign into it, move your files over, test all programs run correctly:

    http://www.howtogeek.com/226540/how-to-create-a...

Then when ready you can delete the old in the same place as above, and convert the new account to your MS account if desired:

    https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/5375-switch...

    4) Go over this checklist to make sure the install is set up correctly, optimized for best performance, and any needed repairs get done:

    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki...

Start with Step 4 to turn off Startup freeloaders which can conflict and cause issues, then Step 7 to check for infection the most thorough way, then step 10 to check for damaged System Files, and also Step 16 to test a new Local Admin account. Then continue
with the other steps to go over your install most thoroughly.

    5) If nothing else helps you can run a Repair Install by installing the Media Creation Tool and choosing from it to Upgrade Now. This reinstalls Windows in about an hour while saving your files, apps and most settings, solves many problems while also bringing
it up to the latest version 1903 which you need anyway and by the most stable method.

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/m...
    .

    --------------------------------

But remember that Factory or Upgrade installs are inferior installs which most enthusiasts won't even run because they'd expect endless issues. Consider doing the Clean Install in this link which compiles the best possible install that will stay that way as
long as you stick with the tools and methods given:
    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki...

There is also an automated Refresh that reinstalls WIndows while shedding corrupting factory bloatware, saves your files, but doesn't clear the drive to get it cleanest:

    https://www.howtogeek.com/265054/how-to-easily-...

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and keep me posted. If you'll wait to rate whether my post helped you, I will keep working with you until it's resolved.

Windows10 Update "Some Settings are Managed by Your Organization"

When Windows updates alerts me to available new Updates Ready to be installed....in Red I now see "Some settings are Managed by Your organization"...Please see attachment ....

This began about 2 months ago following the creation of a new user Account. A Display issue was causing my Win10 Start List not to show any Text to the right of the programs in the lists and the solution to correct that issue from another Post here...suggested
creating a new User account.... The instructions were detailed, I followed each step...the new User Account was created and it resolved the issue....

Following the creation of the New user acct, every time Window Updates are offered....the Alert in red "Some Settings are managed by Your organization" displays (see Attachment). The old User account never displayed this Alert.

Clicking on "View Configured Update Policies....it seems this alert is being caused by Mobile Device Management????

I have no idea what that means, or, how any settings would have been set to have some of my settings managed by your organization.

My PC is one of 3 PC's in my Home....it has never been connected to any organization...ie work, etc. During the creation of the New user account at no time was there anything that addressed Organization, Mobile devices during the creation of the New
    user Acct.

How do I remove this Alert?
