Windows 10: Still unable to get Clipboard History to work again

Clipboard History suddenly stopped working. I have repeatedly tried the fixes on this site without success. What usually happens now when clicking WinKey V is that after a delay a blank Window appears, so presumably the History has been lost. Often it quickly disappears but if it hangs around long enough, new items which I copy do not appear (except they do, in other third party Clipboard apps which fortunately I kept in reserve). Once only I have received the popup asking me to copy items to test it, also unsuccessfully.

I am not sure about the reg edit fix. In the Folder where it downloads, when I click it there is no result. Am I using it right? ----- "4. Save the .reg file to your desktop." And then what?
Although I have other good Clipboard apps the new native one had some useful features, not least the sync to other devices, so I would like to get them back.

Hi, any change if
a. you do a clean boot
b. you create a new user for test purposes and log in as that user?

Do you have any restore points you could use?

FWIW my clipboard history looks ok...

Windows Systems do not save the clipboard history. There is only one item stored in the clipboard. If you copy something new the previous clipboard contents is overwritten and lost forever. To get the full microsoft clipboard history you need to use third-party
utilities.

We recommend Clipdiary clipboard manager. It remembers everything you copy: plain text and text with formatting (rtf), html, pictures and files.

Why do you need clipboard manager? What can you do with the microsoft clipboard history?

-Quickly copy data back to the clipboard.

-Paste any clip from the history directly to the selected application.

-Search for the necessary clip by its contents.

-Find out what program the data was copied from.

-Delete clips.
