Windows 10: Store apps cannot be installed

    Store apps cannot be installed


    The Fall update restored the Store which I had been without for some months. However, most (not all) of the apps I have tried to install from the Store fail to download. At the moment I have about a dozen apps listed as Pending or Failed despite repeated attempts. Every day the I get a notification saying the Store has tried and failed with a handful of apps.

    I have used the troubleshooter, resetting the cache, and a powershell command.

    Windows Store apps cannot be installed (Win 10 recently updated from Win 7)

    This did not help on my Dell Venue 8 Pro. My apps are stuck in the queue and show no downloading progress. My wireless is working fine--but apps do not download.

    Hi Victor,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

    As you are not able to install any apps, we would request you run the app troubleshooter following these steps:

    1. In the search box, type Troubleshooting and
    Hit enter.

    2. Click view all from the left pane and click Windows store apps.

    3. Follow the on-screen instructions and Run the troubleshooter
    and restart the computer and then check for the issue.

    I doubt it’ll help but have you gone into settings and found your apps list. Click store and then choose reset. I’ve had a few apps in the past get fixed simply by resetting them. It may nudge the store into action. It’s very fragile the store and the associated native apps. I always hold my breath when the store or one of those apps update (which seems to be far too often!)
