There is no solution to this. Microsoft is a bloody disaster. This is happening to lots of people. I invested so many hours of my life to solve this for nothing because they should fix it, not us. I really dislike this company, seriously. It's a neverending nightmare.

    I'm so angry.

If it is not a hardware issue, it should have a cure. But we have to be systematic.
At first let us check the MSINFO32.nfo file. Please let us see it. System Information File - Create in Windows 10 - Windows 10 ForumsI hope you will be ready for another attempt of troubleshooting. If you are, I would request one thing. Please dont mix up suggestions and steps to follow. It may cause confusions.

Arc thanks a lot, you're great, but there are many threads in every forum with many solutions, some work, some don't, or they work for a while, as in my case.

Many thanks in any case, I was just ranting because I've spent hours and hours on it and still doesn't work permanently. Why is Microsoft releasing it with such huge problem and why are they pushing us to upgrade in every possible way when it just isn't ready.

Yesterday for instance I closed the lid and the laptop went off and I was in the middle of an important Skype discussion that she took for an offense when she thought I had left without even saying goodbye... And this is not a minor consequence....

OMG! I am really very sorry to know it, mate. I hope you will be able to cool her down. If possible, let her see this thread.

About the issue, I an not saying about any so called "solution". Because, if a computer reacts abnormally during power state changes, it is not the sleep configuration of the OS all the times, but in most of the cases it is some of the devices. Well, I am explaining it in detail.

There is the power policy settings in the OS, which reveals some actions that the computer will perform during power state changes like sleep, hibernation, wake-up, fast boot, etc. It defines how the common hardware components like HDD/SSD, RAM and CPU will react during the power state changes. It is overall falling within the scope of definition of ACPI.

ACPI causes some problems at its own. It is not that Windows 10 is the only OS where ACPI causes issues; I have seen myself a lot of ACPI related issues in Windows 7, too. In some cases I was able to help them, despite of the fact that it took a very long time. At the same time in some cases I failed to do any good, whereas apparently it is an identical case. It may sound fallacious.

But actually there is no fallacy. Every computer is unique regarding its overall hardware/software/device/driver/storage/usage/physical environment; etc. and so the issues are not identical at all. Those are unique.

For laptops, it becomes even more complicated. OEM manufacturers play with the BIOS, add their staff there (like nvidia optimus technology; that caused a great number of power state change issues), and lock it up so that the user can not alter the settings. Plus, in most of the cases they have third party components influencing/controlling the ACPI. You can add some other devices like fingerprint censor, bluetooth, and so on who also become a part of the overall ACPI settings.

So you can now think that how many things may contribute there in that single issue. It is very certain that there will not be a fix button, there will not be a "do it and see it is gone". We (you, I and others) have to check it component-wise. It will take a time. There will be a number of trials and errors. The end result will be uncertain, indeed. There may be some constraints (say BIOS lock-up) which may not allow us to reach at our desired goal.

But if you want to think that a laptop cannot make such a trouble for you, and you should see it upto the end. I will be with you.

If and when you will feel that you are ready, follow the post #64 and just give a shout.

    Thanks!!

Maybe I should try installing some Asus drivers then, it all worked perfect in W8.1.

    Thank you very much again.

Hi, just passing by to tell that I installed the driver ATKPackage for Windows 10 from ASUS web site for my laptop model and now everything seems to work fine. Sleeps and shuts down fine. At least by now.

    Thank you everybody again.
