Windows 10: Sync Centre failing after upgrading to Windows 10 1903

Hi, my Thinkpad X230 was recently upgraded to release 1903 of Windows 10, and now the Sync Centre / offline files feature is playing up, having previously been very reliable (laptop is on a domain, connected to a Server 2102 Essentials R2 box).


Since the 1903 upgrade, opening Sync Centre and starting a sync works - once. Asked to sync a second time, and it responds with "Sync Failed". Opening Settings (the gear wheel) and typing "Sync", shows that Sync Centre has now disappeared as an option at the bottom of the list. Accessing Sync Centre via the Control Panel is successful, but sync doesn't now work (synchronisation failed). In "Manage Offline Files" Windows states "Offline Files are enabled, to use restart your computer" or similar. I restart the laptop, go into Sync Centre (which has now reappeared in Settings) and synchronisation works again - once - before once again failing on second attempt, restarting the whole scenario of rebooting the PC to get it to sync once again. I know this must be related to Windows 10 1903 because I reinstalled the laptop to attempt to fix the issue (having also tried restoring the PC to an earlier snapshot from the server) with a fresh download of Windows 10 1903, and the problem was the same, failed on second attempt. Any suggestions? I have posted this issue on Windows Feedback (twice) but no response to the posts.

Sync Centre


Thanks very much for all the info, you are the first person to suggest I am heading up a blind alley with regard to Sync Centre on my Windows Home PC. It is worth knowing! I will try connecting my phone to the PC as you suggest, and let you know.

 

Windows 10 upgrade problem, no input accepted

I really hate having to come here and ask for help, but I really am stumped. It hurts my geek pride. I have a PC with fairly modern hardware in it. It has a p8p67 pro in it. I have tried upgrading windows 10 on it twice now. Both times I have had the same result.

After windows finishes upgrading it goes to the log in/set up screen. I can't do anything. No keyboard or mouse input is accepted.

I will list some, or hopefully all, of the troubleshooting steps I have tried:

• Move keyboard and mouse to different USB ports.
• Try different keyboard or mouse.
• Restart computer, repeatedly.
• Google for related issues.
• Update Bios, because why not.
• Create boot media and revert to windows 7.

The windows 10 system restore boot media works fine with keyboard and mouse. All USB ports work in windows 7. I don't know what is wrong. I suspect that windows 10 is lacking a driver of some sort, but since the computer accepts no input I have no way of checking for which driver let alone installing it.

Please help me figure this out. If I have to revert back to windows 7 again, I am not going to get it upgraded to windows 10. Thank you in advanced.

As far as Wifi any chance it is Qualcom inside USB adapter, if Qualcom then yes known issue.


I might create another user (Local) and when if try again see if this issue occurs on both users.

Would also suggest you run the first 5 steps in this tutorial to see if you have any corruption with current build.
