  1. Taskbar does not respond no matter how often I press on it

    Hi dear folks, *Smile

Help! My setting icon and task bar in Windows 10 is not responding?I had Windows 7 and one day when I was at lunch, I came back and Windows 10 had installed itself!

I kept it and a few months later, all crashed. *Mad

I downloaded Windows 10 and uploaded it to the crashed computer with the help of a USB stick.

Right now, I can browse with my browser the Internet but I have two HUGE problems:

    1) The action center on the right and also the windows button on the left are UNRESPONSIVE, it doesn't matter how often I click on it. I can't go into the settings, etc. All that usually comes up when Windows 10 works in the action center or under the windows icon in the left corner on the button DOES NOT COME UP. *Confused

I assume I am not the first who has this problems but I didn't find any step by step instruction on how to handle this.

    2) Browsing the Internet is very sluggish.

Any advice how to fix these issues? I would appreciate it very much.

I bought got myloaded it back up but now the Settings and the much of the task bar is frozen. What should I do to get in the settings?

    :)

Taskbar does not respond no matter how often I press on it

I'll assume it's some time since you installed Windows, so you may have a number of programs installed, reconfigured things etc. Also it's an older PC.

First, can you get to Safe Mode and does that seem ok? (E.g. at the login screen, click the power button, then SHIFT + left click Restart and follow the prompts to Safe Mode).

Second, let's check your disk. Depending on what you can do, do at least 1 of
    a. Install and run Hard Disk Sentinel (trial) and post a screenshot of the result for your system disk. (Preferred)
    b. run Crystal Diskinfo (portable) from a flash drive and post a screenshot of the result for your system disk.
    c. Get Kyhi's bootable disk from the top of the Software and Apps section here , boot your PC from it and run HDTune (Health and Error Scan tabs) and post a screenshot of the result for your system disk.

To post a screenshot please use the Insert Image icon above your post to the left of the video icon. Thanks.

Third, if Safe Mode and your disk are ok, try a clean boot.

    Part 1.

Fourth, If your disk is ok, then check your file system:

From an admin command or powershell prompt
[Windows key + X, click command prompt (admin)]
    chkdsk C: /F
Your PC will need to restart.
Post back the result, which you can get after a restart as follows:

Make sure the result is clear or fixed- else do not proceed.

5th - from an admin command prompt run
    SFC /Scannow
    and post the result.

    Please post your Windows build
    Windows key + R, winver

I'll wait for those results before any next steps.
