Windows 10: Taskbar "start menu" customization tab missing

Right click empty part of taskbar, go to "properties". I have 3 tabs. Taskbar, navigation, and toolbars. According to several sites I have read, I should also have a "start menu" tab with a "customization" button to change some things on the left side of the start menu, and also enable pinning things to the left side. This option is missing for me. Is this something that has to be enabled with a registry tweak?

except it is incomplete no option to Clear Personal Info off live tiles.

MS are making it stupidly hard to disable live tikes globally.

not everyone needs or has bandwidth available to waste. guess i keep searching

The Start Menu tab has been removed in this version of Windows 10.

You will find the available Start Menu options in Settings / Personalization / Start.

This is odd. I've found about 10 different sites that reference this. Here's an example: 8 Ways to Customize the Windows 10 Start Menu

Maybe this is something that was present in a beta build that's not in the live version? Although if that's the case there should be a way to reenable it with a registry tweak.

EDIT: Looking at the dates for these customization howto's...and it appears they are all quite old. So yeah, looks like this is something from a much earlier build.

Thanks, but I already found that. I was just hoping to be able to do the things like were being done in the thread I mentioned. Alas it appears it isn't possible anymore (that was apparently from a much older build). I suppose there is always classic shell.

 

Yeah, the Start Menu tab in taskbar properties is no longer available. It's now only in Settings.

 

I can't find it in Settings either. Can you be more specific please? Thanks

It's not that people can't find the simple built in controls to activate or deactivate these items. It's that they are GONE and NOTHING you click brings them back. Example... The, "Settings" button is gone from my win 10 pro Start menu and nothing I click on brings it back.

No, it does not. It was the first thing I tried.

 

OK it's back. Just D/L'ed the latest update from Microsoft and it's back. So strange.
