Windows 10: The thumbnails won't show in Windows 10 on a NEW computer !

Hi,


I had to buy a new computer and I transfer ALL my pictures (over 15 000 !), but now, I can't see any of my pictures' thumbnails unless I open it ... one by one !!

I tried several tricks and yes, I made sure the "show thumbnails not icon" box was uncheck. I even went in the Control Panel / System / Advanced System procedure to check the "Show Thumbnails" box. NOTHING works !

I sure don't want to open all of my documents one at the time !

I'm on a PC, using Windows 10 and Chrome

Change Delay Time to Show Taskbar Thumbnails in Windows 10


Hello Eddo,

This setting affects the delay time to show both thumbnails and list.

  When you say "the thumbnails are just icons", is that on a local account or the Microsoft account?
  
• 
  Do you have the latest version of ProRes or iTunes installed on the pc?
  

I suggest you to follow the steps below and verify the result.

• 
  Go to file explorer and clock on view.
  
• 
  Select Options and Go to View.
  
• 
  Under Files and folders uncheck the box always show icon, never thumbnails.
  

I also suggest you to install any pending Windows updates on the pc to check if that helps. Updates are additions to software that can help prevent or fix problems, improve how your computer works, or enhance your computing experience.

MOV Thumbnails don't show

I can\t see any thumbnails for MOV files on my computer, I have Quicktime player installed and I have followed the below instructions posted by a mod in an earlier version of this question from another user. Neither of these things helped. Is there any other
advice on how to make Windows 10 show a thumbnail of these files?

The corrupted user profile does not function normally such as not launching Start menu, Cortana, Search bar, Store and other Windows applications. In such cases creating a new profile and checking for the same will help in identifying if the issue is
