Windows 10: Trouble on a Clean install of Windows 10.

Hi Guys,
I am attempting a clean install of Windows 10 on my Hp x360 Laptop.
The install goes quite well and then it restarts and boots straight to the HDD. It gets to "Getting Ready" before getting stuck. Its stays on that screen for 2 hours or so. I have restarted multiple times only to get the message "The computer restarted unexpectedly or encounter an unexpected error. windows installation cannot proceed. To install Windows, click "OK" to restart the computer, then restart the installation". I have done the installation 3 times now with the same error. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Having trouble with clean install of Windows 10 on new SSD.

I loaded the Windows 10 installer onto a USB drive and booted it up, and the installer recognizes that I have an empty SSD with two partitions. However when I try to move to the next step the installer tells me it "couldn't create a new partition or locate
an existing one" and that I should check the Setup log files.

I don't understand why it's telling me this when on the same screen it shows two partitions on the SSD, one of which has plenty of space to install the OS. Any advice?

If its an empty SSD, delete all the partitions and leave it raw space. Tell it to install into the raw space.

 

Are the files on the drive backed up?
Had you made a backup image using Macrium?

Is the goal a clean install?
Or is the goal an upgrade?

For a clean install you would delete all partitions, make an unallocated driver and reinstall windows 10.

For in place upgrade you would create a bootable windows 10 iso:

When there is a failure to upgrade Windows typically creates logs.
These are the Panther logs.
They are by default hidden.
If the aim is to upgrade without performing a clean install these logs can be troubleshooted.

 

I removed everything on the drives because I had a drive GPT error. I have used this USB on multiple computers before with no problem.

 

1) Open disk management > widen each volume and status columns > make sure the contents in each row are in complete view and that there is no cut off information in any of the rows > post an image into the thread.

3) post an image into the thread
4) Make sure the default language on the computer is English

5) Run the DM log collector:

It will automatically collect: msinfo32, dxdiag, mini dumps, drivers, install, uninstall, hosts, startup, event viewer, etc.
6) Post a zip into the thread for troubleshooting

Please answer these questions from the prior post:
4) Are the files on the drive backed up?
5) Had you made a backup image using Macrium?

Is the BIOS set for Legacy or UEFI hybrid or UEFI native?

 

Sorry zbook, I dont know if you saw what I posted but the HDD is empty. All it does it get to the windows logo and gets stuck there. I cannot access the OS at all. The goal is a clean install, like the title states, and so does my original post.
Nothing is backed up because it is a brand new computer and I prefer a clean install to get rid of all HP bloatware.

 

See if you can perform these steps:
If you have any difficulty please use a smart phone camera to take a picture and post images into the thread.
1) Power on the computer repetitively clicking the F10 key to enter the bios
2) Configure the BIOS to UEFI
3) Save
4) Insert the bootable Windows 10 iso into a USB 2 port
5) Restart the computer repetitively clicking the F9 key
6) Boot to the external USB hard drive
7) delete partitions > make unallocated drive > install Windows 10 version 1711

Great. UEFI provides more security features and is faster than Legacy.
