Windows 10: Turn Language Bar OFF (hide it)

Hello, I'd like to hide the language bar, as I did with Win7. Currently I have 2 keyboard layouts installed (German, which I use and English) My display language is English, and it seems I cannot remove the English keyboard layout (is it true? suggestions?) Under Win7, when only one layout was installed the Language bar would disappear automatically: any Idea about how to hide it in my case? Thanks for supporting, Marco

Turning off auto hide for the task bar also worked for me.

 

I have windows 10 and have lost my task bar. How do I get it back?

Make sure the task bar auto-hide option is turned off

Turn On or Off Auto-hide Taskbar in Desktop Mode in Windows 10

I think what you are looking for is under Settings
Notifications and Actions
Turn system icons on or off
Then turn off Input indicator.

On my system however it turns itself back on after a reboot. So it does not appear to be working as intended yet.

Also make sure in the last step "The Text Services and Input Languages settings box" 'Hidden'

I have a German keyboard and use Eng-US for display and system(American expat), the only way to get rid of it for good, as it seems to have a mind of it's own, is to go to Control Panel>Language>Options(right hand side)>input method and remove the keyboard(s) you don't have/use.

 

I have a Swedish keyboard, only one language setting, perhaps that is the key difference why the method I mentioned above (post #3) works for me?

I'm in your same condition (US+GER), but how could you remodve the US keyboard, when english is your display language????

Yep! On my system(Now 10 before 8.1) that little bugger kept popping up not only after every boot/restart, but just when ever it had a mind too. When I cleaned up unused language settings, it stopped. There is a thread in Eight Forums about it too.*Smile

 

...what I mean is that if I go into language options for english US language, Inder Input method (US) the "Remove" button is disabled,
so there is no possibility to remove the english keyboard...

 

Does you settings look like these? And try Advanced settings(on left)>change language bar hot keys and remove from there.

Glad to hear. But to see if it really holds, try restarting explorer... Task manager>processes>windows explorer>restart button bottom left

 

after restart process it holds...I'll se after restarting the complete sistem....
