Windows 10: unable to change win10 pro password

I set up my local user password on my new PC but tried to change it in Settings but clicked on the Change tab nothing happened just got a quick hourglass timer icon. This is so frustrating such a simple thing made difficult by MS

Cannot find and join homegroup after windows 10 upgrade

Changed the password on the Win7 computer where the homegroup was created. Still unable to connect to the homegroup on the Win10 computer

 

Windows 10 Pro- setting disable lock screen does not disable the lock screen

I am experiencing the same problem of NoLockScreen not having any effect on Win10 Pro.

In addition, under Power Options, I cannot see the 'Require a Password on Wake up'. Hence, I am unable to apply the above steps.

There has to be a solution to bypass the lock screen on startup. Please help.

I tried all that to no avail however it seems I was logging into a MS account which I was unaware of so I managed to switch to a local account and now I can change user name/password. Talk about being hi-jacked !

It sounds like you may have signed in to the Store (or some app) with your Microsoft account, and missed checking the option to only sign in to the app instead of switching to a Microsoft account.
