Windows 10: Updated to 1903 from 1803 Successfully

I got tired of waiting for Windows Update to offer 1903 for my Windows 10 Home, 1803 laptop. I used Update Assistant and the update was successful the first try. At times it seemed stalled but it was just taking a long time to move from one percentage to the next. In all it was about an hour on my laptop which runs pretty fast. The process is a little mysterious because it is not possible to know what is being done, or what is not being done. The process spent about forty minutes "preparing for the update" and fifteen minutes or so restarting. When finished the first thing I did was look at the update history and found none. A few minutes later the history appeared. It showed 1903 and a June 9 date. That is about the time that I downloaded the update assistant. In spite of the date I hope that I got the latest version of 1903. On June 6 my Windows 10 Pro laptop installed 1903 via Windows Update and I noticed a fifteen minute period of preparing my computer. I noticed no similar period in the update via Update Assistant. Still, all seem well.

Win 10 1803 to 1903 update

My Desktop computer running Win 10 updated from version 1803 to 1903 a while back, but my Desktop running Win 10 version 1803

I'm assuming the update 1803 to 1903 has now resumed after the earlier problems caused a suspension?

Any thoughts, suggestions?

 

Windows Home 10 update from 1803 to 1903

I have windows 10 x64 home edition, version 1803.

I'm trying to update it to the new onw, version 1903, but my pc freezes every time when the installation is going to finish (around 80%).

I tried to update the OS in different ways:

1. Start > Settings > Update
   & Security > Windows Update , and then select Check for updates.
   If updates are available, install them.
2. Download the Update Assistant
3. Download the Media Creation Tool 1903

The result is always the same.

No errors, only pc freezing.

What do you suggest to do?

Known issues for Windows 10 May 2019 Update version 1903


As far as Wifi any chance it is Qualcom inside USB adapter, if Qualcom then yes known issue.


I might create another user (Local) and when if try again see if this issue occurs on both users.

Would also suggest you run the first 5 steps in this tutorial to see if you have any corruption with current build.
