Let's reset Windows Update using the .bat file in the tutorial below to see if that can fix the remaining issues with Windows Update.

*Arrow Reset Windows Update in Windows 10 Windows 10 Tutorials

Afterwards, give "Check for updates" a try in Windows Update to see what it does for you now. *Smile

Sorry..............but I have got something wrong...............

I looked at the Update History and realized that the small update I said was successful was NOT *Sad

I have downloaded the .bat file and run as administrator..........

Cannot reset Windows Update since "Windows Update" (wuauserv) service failed to stop.

    Press any key to continue...........

Then a few lines and whoof - it closes

    Hi

Manually stopped the wuauserv service OK

Ran the .bat file as administrator

    4 services stopped

successfully flushed the DNS Resolver cache

    deleted 2 .dat files
could not find CUpdating Windows 10 :programData/Microsoft/Network/Downloader/qmgr*.dat
    deleted 16 .et1 files

it hung for a while and then

    2 access denieds

    and whoosh - gone

will now try and upload again

It sounds like the .bat file successfully ran to reset Windows Update. Be sure you restart the computer immediately afterwards though.

    Hi

have tried to manually stop auaserv service
    then ran the .bat file
then apply the very first basic single update KB4077525

but it always shows as 'failed to install'

producing the report again - still shows unfixed error
