Windows 10: Upgraded to version 1903 and the following ......

I have an 'older' computer that I use as a backup. It is not name brand, but has a WD hard drive. I initially up-graded to W 10, from W 8, off an IO disc from the original "free" upgrade my Microsoft. Continually kept the machine updated, and had no problems with it.

Now, I upgraded to ver 1903, and I'm shown that my system is no longer "Authentic" because the 'original program on the drive was not authenticated by Microsoft prior to upgrade." Now, I hate to disagree with MS, BUT …….

I realize this is not really a CRISIS issue; but has anyone else seen this happen? What can be done, other than "purchasing a genuine key from the MS store"?

I have other machines who are running 1903, and both of them [PC and laptop] are authenticated.

As far as Wifi any chance it is Qualcom inside USB adapter, if Qualcom then yes known issue.


I might create another user (Local) and when if try again see if this issue occurs on both users.

Would also suggest you run the first 5 steps in this tutorial to see if you have any corruption with current build.

To early to update to Version 1903?

Those that have upgraded to Version 1903, is MS still coming out with download updates to that version quite frequently? Or, do you suggest waiting another month or 2?

I waited 3 months to upgrade to 1809. This past May, I never saw so many updates to that version......weekly! Maybe those updates were some additions that are in 1903???
