Windows 10: User Profile Service Service failed! User profile cannot be loaded.

ok! I hope the USB does better than the ISO DVD, which led me to a SAM file in use issue.

 

I am not getting proper boot from the USB installation media for Win 10. With the USB in a front panel port, Turn on the machine, I am getting to the sign on screen, but there was no activity light flashing on the USB. Must the USB be inserted into a specific USB port on the Dell XPS8700?

How do I make the machine read from the USB Win10 flash drive??
same thing happened with the DVD media.

OK! Using a rear-located USB port, I now got to the Advanced Option-Choose a Device; it now shows the 32GB USB available.
I got to a Windows Setup window, and then clicked on Repair your Computer.

 

Am am now at x:\sources> prompt.
Is it here that I need to open Administrator account mgr? What is the command; I've forgotten! Is it:
net administrator /active:yes. ?

The account will stay enabled until you disable it.

 

When attempting to do step 1, Option One of
Command Prompt at Boot - Open in Windows 10

To open a command prompt, I begin with the computer off.
at sign on screen I do a shift-Restart...
Then I select Use a device, to get to my USB Win10 flash drive, which I select.

I note activity for drive C.
I am presented next with a Windows Setup window; wait a minute.

This time I did a shift-F10, and an

Administrator:X:\windows\system32\cmd.exe
window opened with

Microsoft Windows [Version 10. 0.10240]

on top most line and


X:\Sources> prompt
showing on screen within the boxed window.

Is this an indication of successful " command line " prompt by use of my Win10 installation media? I would appreciate verification before continuing.

"The command completed successfully" returned on screen. So, does this result indicate that Administrator Account is now enabled, and should I see Administrator as a selectable option when I next shift-Restar at the sign on screen?

I also did>net user guest/active:yes
and returned
The command completed successfully.

I wonder if I should do a
> net user default/active:no

and then do /active:yes
to try to clean up the User Profile Service failed on sign on error? I'll wait for a reply on that, however.

No joy! I should have mentioned this earlier: I have the MS sign on account enabled! Maybe that is why I am not seeing Administrator or Guest at the sign on screen, even tho

is there a way that I can disable the MS Account Signon prompt? w/o distroying anything? I hope that disabling is possible from the web, not from within Win 10.

 

Anyone know what error #1753 means?

I have a Microsoft Account sign on screen shown on my monitor screen.

l shift-restart, select Troubleshhot, selectAdvance Options, selected Command Prompt.
The Command Prompt Window title is: Administrator: X:\windows\system32\cmd.exe.
At at the X:\ windows\system32> prompt line I typed: NET FILE and return is:

the Server service is not started.
Is it OK to start it? (y/N?) (Y): To which I typed/ entered Y.

The return displayed is:
"The Server service is starting.
The Server service could not be started.
A system error has occurred.
System error 1753 has occurred.
There are are no more endpoints available from the endpoint mapper.
X:\ windows\system32> "

Furthermore: Typying NET USER at the command prompt line returns the following:
"User accounts for\\
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Administrator DefaultAccount. Guest
The command completed with one or more errors.

Have you already tried doing a system restore at boot using a restore point dated before you had this issue to see if it may sort it?

I did try a Restore, way back when first saw a User Profile Service service failed at logon error problem. The Restore failed at about 68% completion at that time, more than 30 days ago. Previous dated restore points are no longer shown. I think the one that now remains is dated early September, but it also fails.


I believe I now have Admin Account enabled,
(Command to enable it returned "successful completion at command prompt line),
but I see only my Microsoft Account Signon Screen, which does NOT include an admin or a guest option. Is there a way to bypass MS account Signon and get to the local accounts for sign on? I think that if I am able to get to (local) admin sign on, I will have a go at doing the suggested repair (REM_SAM, etc).

I really do not want to reset to DELL's Win 8.0 settings, because I do not want to erase "Data files" that were generated since Jan 2014! I don't trust backed up files on my external Western Digital Passpot USB HDD.
