Various BSODs, unknown root cause

I have been getting various BSODs on my new build, running the latest drivers and BIOS from the manufacturer of my mobo, Gigabyte. I have RMA'd the mobo once, and it was returned with no repairs. I have reinstalled windows, verified that the drive works with HDtune and sfc. I have verified that the memory has no issues with memtest86. the video card worked without a hitch in a previous build, as did the wifi card. I have also tested the PSU, and it was indicated to be functional. Most of the issues seem to be related to the USB and sound systems, the mouse and keyboard will not load correctly sometimes and i have to reset the PC via the reset button on the case. in addition, the sound system will occasionally bug out and sound like it is being played at a fraction of normal time. In addition, it seems like if i try to play a Directx related game like factorio, the system throws a thread_stuck_in_device_driver, but it works for Minecraft and Starcraft 2, this seems to be the only consistant issue. I would appreicate any advice, and will answer any questions to the best of my abitliy.

Hello and welcome to TenForums *Smile

Looking at the 5 crash dumps I can see that you might have a few problems.

First you have software from Gigabyte installed which I would recommend that you remove - in three cases your BSOD occurred when processes from RGB Fusion were running.

Code: PROCESS_NAME: GvLedServices.exe PROCESS_NAME: SelLedV2.exe
Secondly there was one crash that was attributed to the athw10x.sys driver dated Thu Mar 16 08:24:58 2017
This is for your Wireless PCI adapter and you should look for a newer driver to replace the one you are using. You may need to look on a Qualcomm website to find it.

Code: BugCheck 139, {4, ffffc6801afe9090, ffffc6801afe8fe8, 0} *** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for athw10x.sys *** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for athw10x.sys
Removed the Gigabyte apps, the wifi card is an old TP-Link, not an Athrios, and it will randomly switch between the two, but i have it set to the tp link driver. Updated the video card driver, apparently chrome can cause a payback issue with hardware acceleration, that has supposedly been fixed in the newest driver. Going to see if i can trigger a BSOD with these fixes in place.

How did you determine which Gigabyte drivers to uninstall and which to keep?
Have you noticed any change in performance?
This Gigabyte driver was a source of recurrent bsod in another thread: Gdrv.sys
Did you keep or uninstall this driver:
Code: gdrv gdrv gdrv Kernel Manual Running OK TRUE FALSE 0 12,288 0 7/3/2013 11:27:55 PM \??\C:\WINDOWS\gdrv.sys
Which method did you use to uninstall the video graphics driver?

Open administrative command prompt and type: chkdsk /x /f /r
This may take many hours so plan to run overnight.
Use the information in this link to find the chkdsk results in event.vwr and post the txt results into the thread:

Removing the gigabyte app center removes all apps associated with it, the only one i would actually use is @bios, and i can reinstall the app center and @bios if i need it, then uninstall after flashing bios. I think the Gdrv.sys is related to one of the apps from gigabyte, called easy saver, it exists on the drive still after removing the app center but i don't see the service associated with it
The video driver i updated through the CCC app, so i am assuming not a clean install.
chkdsk is set to run at next boot
Edit:
Rebooted to run chkdsk, no issues from the scan

What is the full name of the CCC app?
If you have any further issues with the video card the best option is the clean install using DDU.
In the other thread the APP center was uninstalled to remove GDRV.sys. There were no recurrent BSOD. Then after a clean install all Gigabyte drivers were installed and again GDRV.sys was a misbehaving driver. So the OP knows the names of the contents of the APP center but does not now how performance would be improved with the APP center. They are considering a RMA versus continuing to use the motherboard without the APP center.

When running chkdsk /x /f /r it should take some time.

I'm going to mark the BSOD issue as fixed via removing the Gigabyte apps. i seems to have worked myself into a consistant pattern of failure, every other boot, USB devices dont work, and every other time i can log in(ie usb devices work) there is sound tearing(sounds are streched or distorted)
Thanks zbook & Philc43

There was 1 BSOD mini dump file on 9/22/2017.
Debugging did not display a new definitive misbehaving driver.

Perform the following steps:
1) Uninstall everything AMD using Display driver uninstaller and install new drivers from the AMD website.
2) Make sure the "clean install" box is checked and only install the graphics driver.

Run memtest86+ version 5.01 for at least 8 passes.
Memtest86+ is not run by time but by passes.
The more passes the better.
Fewer than 8 passes has a significant number of false negatives.
A false negative is a pass test result with Malfunctioning RAM.
There is 16GB of RAM on the computer with 8GB on 2 DIMM.
Memtest86+ takes approximately 1 -2 hours /GB RAM.
Just 1 error is a fail and you can abort testing.
Then test 1 RAM module at a time in the same DIMM for 8 or more passes.
If the RAM testing fails when both RAM modules are tested together and pass when tested 1 at a time move 1 RAM module to another DIMM to test the DIMM / Motherboard.
The RAM testing may take many hours so plan to run it overnight.
