Windows 10: Version 1903 display issue

By default my monitor's gamma is far too low for my liking and its in built gamma options literally don't do anything so within windows I went through the "calibrate display colour" steps and increased the gamma, problem solved. However since I updated to 1903 a very weird bug has started with this. When I shut down my PC and start it back up, I find it in a state where display settings are back to default, I can't select "use NVIDIA settings" in NVIDIA control panel to change the gamma there and I also found that night light doesn't work, generally things to do with display stop working. I can fix all of this by either logging out and logging back in again or rebooting, however it returns whenever I do a shut down or put the PC to sleep. I've tried reinstalling my graphics driver and that didn't do anything. I have no idea what's causing this but I know it started when I updated, I'd rather fix it than roll back because I know I will eventually have to have this update installed anyway. If anyone can suggest anything I would be grateful.

As far as Wifi any chance it is Qualcom inside USB adapter, if Qualcom then yes known issue.


I might create another user (Local) and when if try again see if this issue occurs on both users.

Would also suggest you run the first 5 steps in this tutorial to see if you have any corruption with current build.

Issues with Display after 1903 update

What is the make and model of your computer?



In order to isolate the issue, I would suggest you to check in Device Manager if you have NVidia and Intel graphics drivers. If you have both, I would suggest you to disable NVidia, so that the display takes Intel as the main driver and check if the
issue persists. Please follow the steps mentioned below:

1. Press Windows key + X to open Context menu.
   
2. Click on Device Manager.
   
3. Expand Display adapters.
   
4. If you see Intel an NVidia both, right click on
   NVidia and select Disable Device.
   
5. If you receive any prompts, give a positive response to it.

1903 version night light not working

Hi Monika,

it is a known issue in 1903

Night light settings do not apply in some cases

Microsoft has identified some scenarios where night light settings may stop working, for example:

Connecting to (or disconnecting from) an external monitor, dock, or projector

Rotating the screen

Updating display drivers or making other display mode changes

Affected platforms:

Client: Windows 10, version 1903

Workaround: If you find that your night light settings have stopped working, try turning the night light on and off, or restart your computer.

Note We recommend that you do not attempt to manually update using the Update now button or the Media Creation Tool until this issue has been resolved.
