Discus and support Video card issues (from code 43 to black screen) in Windows 10 Graphic Cards to solve the problem; My mistake, I used the wrong file.     There were 5 BSOD mini dump files.
    Debugging displayed 1 misbehaving hardware driver in all mini dumps.
    The bugcheck was 116
    This bugcheck is Video TDR error.

    Open administrative command prompt and copy and paste:
    1) sfc /scannow
    2) dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
    3) chkdsk /scan
    4) When these have completed > right click on the top bar or title bar of the administrative command prompt box > left click on edit then select all > right click on the top bar again > left click on edit then copy > paste into the thread

    5) Free space on C: so that there is 27 GB free

    6) Make sure that there is no overclocking.

    Video TDR could be caused by:
    a) Misbehaving drivers
    b) Heat
    c) Power to the card
    d) Faulty PCI-e slot
    e) Defective GPU


    Troubleshooting steps:
    a) Try later and/or earlier drivers
    b) Measure the GPU's temperatures at idle and under load
    c) Ensure the GPU is free from dust build up and that the fan is working correctly
    d) Reseat the GPU and check all connections are securely made
    e) Check PSU voltages in BIOS
    f) Try a different card in the system


    7) The best way to fix the misbehaving Nvidia driver is to uninstall everything Nvidia using Display driver uninstaller and install new drivers from the computer manufacturer's website or from the Nvidia website.
    The computer manufacturer's web site is preferred.
    Enter the computer's serial or product number and the operating system to view available drivers.
    If you use the Nvidia web site be sure the "clean install" box is checked and only install the graphics driver and the physx driver.

  3. I will get started on these steps, but I will let you know what I have already tried:

    a) Try later and/or earlier drivers
    c) Ensure the GPU is free from dust build up and that the fan is working correctly
    d) Reseat the GPU and check all connections are securely made

    and I did use Display Driver Uninstaller to remove the driver completely (eventually...lol). I still had four versions of the driver exe files on my machine (I never use the GeForce experience if i can help it). Only the latest drivers worked, the others made safe mode come up. I will let you know how it goes. Fingers crossed.

    Just for information ....
    Clean Install choice only shows up if you choose Custom Install , which you should use, and uncheck the features you don't need.

    When using DDU it should only have been run IN Safe Mode ....

    1) Make sure that there is no over clocking while troubleshooting.

    2) Sometimes there are problems in the bios that produce bsod.
    3) To ensure that there are no improper bios settings please reset the bios.
    4) Sometimes there can be failure to boot after resetting the bios.

    5) So please make sure your files are backed up.
    6) Please make a backup image with Macrium:

    7) And please create a brand new restore point.

    8) When available please post the information from the BIOS (post #15, step #9)

    9) For any BSOD please post a new zip into the thread:

    10) Allow the computer to generate logs (possible spontaneous BSOD or crashes) for the next few days.
    Report into the thread your findings related to the new graphics driver.
    Then run FurMark stress testing.
    Please make note of the importance of temperature monitoring and aborting the test in the GPU link.
    Aim for 1 hour testing and abort testing as needed for temperature changes, freezing, and display artifacts.

    11) All testing should be done with the bios reset and no over clocking.

    12) For all tests please record maximum temperatures and test duration.

    13) And please make sure that you use the Microsoft snipping tool to post images of each into the thread.

  12. I don't have a lot of time on weekdays, here is my update so far.

    My machine is not overclocking, I avoid overclocking because it usually shortens the life of the card, I don't have money to replace a $300 video card every year *Smile

    I downloaded Macrium, made a restore point, made a image file and a boot disk. I finally found the bios reset, but it did not work. I've never manually updated the BIOS, but I was hoping it would work in case the system make it's own updates, but no go.

    I'm going to let the machine run a few days during the evening to let it generate logs, and then I will run the stress tests and post the information either tomorrow or Friday at the latest.

  13. Video card issues (from code 43 to black screen)

    I downloaded FurMark just to be proactive. It does not detect my Nvidia card, just the basic video card on the motherboard.

    In post # 24 for the BIOS what happened when you removed the CMOS battery?
    Open device manager > click view > show hidden devices > expand display adapters >right click > properties > check status
    Look in device manager for any triangular yellow icons with black exclamation marks > post images into the thread.
