even with all the p2p functionalities of win update disabled it still steals your broadband... letting you with high game pings, but sistem tells nothing is using your broadband... sick of it... microsoft cheating hard and i can´t find any solution on

    Hi,
Quite a few things use bandwidth in win-10
    Apps/ 10 it's self/ and third party programs apps/ Onedrive .......
It is a cloud first world *Smile

First see what your advanced windows update settings are set too
There's new feature in 10 that share updates with others on the internet basically using your bandwidth as a MS updates server or within your own home network which the second wouldn't too bad except it is not a default setting.

Apps wise just turn off as many Live titles as you can.

This is an old issue I was reminded of here

As Thrash said this is indeed an old issue. Learning from my past mistakes when I get a new computer I go through and "tweak" unneeded things. As you may know Micro$oft likes to "call home" for any reason. After I make all my changes I in fact do notice an improvement, it has often surprised me when I look at the start when I log on almost everything wants to look for updates and what ever else they do. Anyway no doubt if you're vigilant you will see a difference when you sort this problem.
    Good luck,

Hello , thank you for the answers.
Very strange that I had not this trouble until yesterday , it does not seem to be a Windows update issue.
No uploads are shown on the monitor graphic , only downloads and it is not any update.
I limited the reservable bandwidth (local group policy editor) to only 10% but the download keeps.

    What steals my broadband ?

TCPView from System internals is a safe very good App to let you see what is happening on your computer. Of course make sure you download from the correct site and check for malware but I trust System internals 100% ya just gotta make sure no bad guys sneek some unwanted things in.Good luck again.

Hello , I have TCPView instaled , all I have to do is to press F6 on the Bandwidth monitor to call it . It is a very useful application. Two days ago I installed GlassWire and liked a lot the features and interface.

But what steals my broadband ?
The answer is : Windows 10 upgrades .

As I wrote "Windows not downloading any update" - just because the I had not clicked the download button - I could not be more wrong. I had chosen to defer updates and got used to decide when to click download button, but some mandatory updates are downloaded whether people want it or not.
When I made up my mind to click the updates download button the download bar came up already around 40 % (this time it was the update version 1703).
Microsoft is very pushy as to Windows 10 updates.Very annoying. Cheers
