Windows 10: Why doesn't Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth work Windows 10

Okay so how do get the update?

 

Okay so how do get the update? Also, when I mount the ISO there are lots of files to chose from inside it, and I do not known which one to use for the Dism command. See picture for the files:

 

Open setup and it will start the upgrade.

 

To do the upgrade, run setup (which is really setup.exe). The source for DISM will be install.esd inside the sources folder.

 

1) Hi, I have done some research but cant get the syntax correct for the part of the command above you suggested that you have to replace with the files path for the mounted image?

2) In you last post you said "....to start the upgrade....". I do not understand what you mean, I already have Windows 10. Do you mean clicking on this would upDATE Windows 10 to the latest build?

In your picture above you've mounted it on drive E for swap the X for an E. So:

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /source:WIM:E:\Sources\Install.wim:1 /LimitAccess

MCE gives you install.esd Tech Bench gives you install.wim. You could open the E:\Sources directory and check.

To repeat what others have said, I was you though I'd not bother with dism at this point - just upgrade as the upgrade will overwrite all windows files anyway. Do the upgrade then your install will be same version as your ISO and DISM will work *Smile

 

As suggested i would do the update to latest build, then can see if still have the errors in DISM, then we can go from there. Since do not have this build yet.

 

I clicked on the mounted install file for Windows 10 but it would not accept my Windows 8 installation code.

 

Mount the ISO file or if you put burned disc in DVD Drive (open in explorer), then just right click setup.exe . Should be able to just skip key input or if says do later select that.

 

1) My Dism command failed again. But I managed to locate the .wim file in sources. (I mounted the GB English English ISO on my desktop, not a DVD.)

2) The upgrade/update doesn't work. No option to skip install code.

 

Start Setup from Windows 10, do not boot from the DVD. This will upgrade your 10240 build to 10586 build without asking for a key.

EDIT: I suspect you run Setup from Sources folder! No! Run Setup from the root folder to upgrade.

 

I clicked on setup.exe and clicked yes. It is not on a DVD it is on my desktop.

 

Windows update ever download this update ?

 

Have you checked lately, run Windows update manually ?
