Windows 10: Win 10 1809 to 1903 Failure And Odd Issue Found

So for a couple days I have been trying to update to 1903 including removing every device but the mouse and keyboard and trying but I always get a failure around 73%. I tried the troublershooter, the media creation tool and so forth

Today trying with the windows 10 iso route(on a local drive) the updater says that "We are having trouble determining you can run windows 10 on this pc"

I started looking around and noticed that in msconfig there is no boot options in the boot tab. This is an EFI so I am not sure if that is normal. Which in the past had stopped me from easily getting into safeboot as well since no option can be checked in that tab if no drive is shown as boot.

However when I was backing up today I remembered my backup software also had a preos(easus) so I turned it on. However it never turns on and this makes me think something is going on with how it is seeing the partitions so I have added a pic of that as well

i have never had issues booting and reboot daily so at least I know its working.

Sort of at a loss here. Would like to update this pc but can't seem to figure what at all is going on.

As far as Wifi any chance it is Qualcom inside USB adapter, if Qualcom then yes known issue.


I might create another user (Local) and when if try again see if this issue occurs on both users.

Would also suggest you run the first 5 steps in this tutorial to see if you have any corruption with current build.

Win 10 1809 kb4497934 update fails with 0x80070157

Hello,

I tried all suggestions up to upgrading to 1903 from

step 1 in fixes. I also tried step 2. None of the fixes

solved the problem. I am not willing to upgrade to

1903 - not during the first month of availability! Do

you take me for a fool? Windows Update continues

to be the most unreliable component of Win 10.

 

Win 10 1809 and 1903/window display fades

Windows 10 1809 then 1903 /HP 15

Windows display started fading over time off and on, sometimes for short bursts.

Became more frequent and then more regular.

Went to Win 10 forum and to HP forum for help.

Adjusted power options - helped for short period then back to bad.

Uninstalled AMD Radeon R5 graphics software, reinstalled, rebooted.

Helped but went back to faded screen after a short time.

Did this several times, no change.

Tried default settings in all instances.

My son checked the AMD hardware and that was working fine.

Went back to earlier version of Win 10…no change.

Performed system restore several times with reboot.

Checked all of suggestions from forum….no change.
