    Windows 10 failing to boot into Windows (Black Screen).


    I have a problem with my Windows 10 system. Previously I did the free upgrade from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 and everything worked fine for several months, until now, the system will not boot into windows and on boot up I am presented with a black screen and a flashing cursor (see pic).
    I did carry out a recovery usb backup when the Windows 10 was installed, I have tried booting from the usb pen drive to attempt a recovery or fix, but both options have failed, unable to repair and cannot find recovery setup file.
    Please could someone suggest another option that I can use to attempt to get the system running again?

    Windows 10 black screen on start up

    Hi, The upgrade to windows 10 is successful on my dell 260 desktop and my surface 3 pro but has failed on my dell Vostro 3550. from boot it shows the windows logo then the screen goes black. I've re-booted at least ten time with the same outcome each
    time. With a black screen i can't see what's happening to run any fix routines and running the system test from boot tells me my CD drive has failed! any solutions?

    Restore failed now it will not boot past a black screen

    Restore failed, now it will not boot past a black screen. I was doing a full clean and restore of windows 10 and it was goin ok till I got an error saying that windows failed to restore and it had only option Cancel.

    not it will load the post screen on my laptop and then its just a black screen and that's is. I let is sit for almost 5 hours and still nothing.

    so I put in a USB stick and told to boot form that to maybe to a clean installs and it starts to boot then nothing. there is nothing wrong with the hardware I checked it all out. any ideas?
