    Windows 10 May update(1903) Dual Boot up issue


    I am trying an In place upgrade from the windows 10 1803 version to the latest May update (1903) using the ISO file

    After the successful installation of the update, On the machine boot up it came up with the Dual boot screen, Both Os was windows 10,

    One of the them was my regular machine and while i tried to enter into the newly created partition, it loads for some time and gets rebooted again and ends up again in the dual boot screen

    Is there any known issues with the May update or what is happening here? could someone please help me regarding this.

    I have downloaded the ISO file using the media creation tool

    I am using the following switches with the setup.exe

    switch.exe /auto upgrade /DynamicUpdate disable /MigrateDrivers all /ShowOOBE none /quiet /compat IgnoreWarning /BitLocker TryKeepActive

    Not listed in the Known.

    Known issues for Windows 10 May 2019 Update version 1903


    As far as Wifi any chance it is Qualcom inside USB adapter, if Qualcom then yes known issue.


    I might create another user (Local) and when if try again see if this issue occurs on both users.

    Would also suggest you run the first 5 steps in this tutorial to see if you have any corruption with current build.

    Dual Booting with Windows 8.1


    The procedure below will allow you to boot Windows separately or in dual boot configuration.
    Here's what I recommend to do:
    1. Disconnect the drive containing Windows 8.1
    2. Install Windows 10 with one drive connected.
    3. After step 2, reconnect the drive containing Windows 8.1
    4. Boot up Windows 8.1. Open disk management and take a note of the drive letter of Windows 10 OS.
      NOTE: if you boot up Windows 10, then take a note of Windows 8.1 drive letter
    5. Open Admin command prompt and type: bcdboot X:\windows where X: is the drive letter of Windows 10 (Windows 8.1 if you boot from Windows 10 in step 4)
    6. Reboot the PC. You should have a dual boot screen.

    NOTE: To break off the dual boot setting, Win+R->msconfig->boot and delete the none default entry on the list.
