Windows 10 Only 1 Power Option

    Hi All,

I have just completed a re-install of Windows 10 64bit Pro, I wanted to have my Power Option (laptop) set to High Performance but I only have Balanced there? Any idea how I get the standard Windows options back?

I have tried going through the Power troubleshooter but it makes no difference?

    Thanks

    :)

  2. Screen Saver not working after Windows 10 upgrade (virtual without any disk)

I downloaded Windows 10 - upgraded seems to work but screen saver and power management do not.

Screen stays the same for hours. My only option to-date is to power off my screen. I have an All-in-1 unit.

Simple to power off but I am disappointed by Win 10 ...............no screen saver ?

    Thanks for the advice !

Only 1 default power plan? - Windows 10

That suggestion isn't going to work for you, all it's going to do is likely show you a single power plan in command prompt instead of control panel.

If you are still having trouble, try this Denny:

Open the registry editor. If you don't know how, open search/Cortana and type regedit

Using the folders on the left hand side, navigate to the following folder:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power

on the right, one of the keys near the top should be called CsEnabled. Click on this.

Change the value of this key from 1 to 0.

After you reboot you should have your power plans back. Hope this helps!

Windows 10 Only 1 Power Option

All sorted Brink, created a new option using the 'High Performance' as the base level. Hopefully thats sorted me.

    Thanks again.

The full extent of this change rather passed me by. Out of interest, has anybody ever got any significant performance improvement using high perrformance plan?

I'd say this is more for limiting resources to save battery power. "High Performance" will just have all resources available if needed.
