Windows 10: Windows 10 update 1903

Recently I did the latest windows 10 update on my Dell, desktop computer. It took me almost 2 days to do it, because it kept freezing up. Finally it completed. At first it seemed to be running okay, but then was very slow to start up. At that point I looked through my anti virus software to make sure i didn't have any viruses and ran a scan and it said there were no threats, no viruses etc. Yet everyday it seemed to run slower and as of last night, it won't start up at all... Just a black screen. This is a home computer. I basically use it to check email and create documents and spreadsheets. I don't play videos, games or go to untrusted websites (only my bank, email, Microsoft).


I am not technically savvy. Can anyone help? Also I use Microsoft Edge, if that helps.

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Local profile issue after upgrading to 1903

As far as Wifi any chance it is Qualcom inside USB adapter, if Qualcom then yes known issue.


I might create another user (Local) and when if try again see if this issue occurs on both users.

Would also suggest you run the first 5 steps in this tutorial to see if you have any corruption with current build.

If I understand correctly, in simple terms, you are suggesting changing the path/method of obtaining the 1903 update but still installing it anyway -

Surely if the problem is actually with the 1903 update then the result will be the same problems irrespective of how it is applied?

Please could you clarify in simple terms, step by step, what your suggested actions actually do and how this may solve the problem.
