Windows 10: Windows 10 update to version 1903 crashed my computer.

I carried out the version 1903 and it has not just crashed its killed my system. My system has been kept up to date on all patches and versions along with MS security patches.


My system does not have a CD Drive and will not recognise any USB drives, this means that i cant run a recovery USB or CD as the CD drive is USB,

and I was informed from Microsoft support that i would have to buy a new windows 10 licence to fix the issue, how will a new licence fix the issue if the current corrupt system will not let me install anything. I don't even get a blue screen of death just kept told by an on screen message to inform my administrator, this is a home system not a business system.



As I already have a licence that was prebuilt on the system, but not given a backup disk as it is no longer needed with windows 10 how do I recover my system if MS support does not under stand that with out "USB" working I cant install a recovery usb or cd.


By the way from MS support, it is not their issue as I "did not test the version update prior to installing on to my system", is this a new procedure that MS are now demanding all its home users do prior to carrying out MS updates ?


Microsoft are now coming on par with MAC "we cant fix it by a new one syndrome"

Window 10, Version 1903 May Update

1. Why are all of the links that you listed not completed. On my computer currently it has Windows 10 Home Version 1803, installed 6/29/2018 with O.S. Build 17134.799. It has used space of 187 GB and 257 GB of free space.

I attempted to install Version 1903 Manually, through Settings/Windows Update, Windows 10 Update Assistant, and other ways without success. I have spent the better part of the past 3 days trying to get this accomplished on my laptop. It has worked on my
PC but not on the laptop.

Listed below are the different error messages that I get after the download stops each time at 90% and converts back to previous settings:

a. Windows 10, Version 1903 error message (0x80240034)

b. We couldn't install this update, but you can try again (0x800703fb)

c. We couldn't install this update, but you can try again (0xC1900101 - 0x4000D)

d. Feature update to Windows 10, Version 1903, We couldn't install this update, but you can try again (0x80070652)

If there are ways to get this latest update installed on my laptop, please let me know what I have to do in detail, step by step.

Hmm, this is Windows 10 1809 which is the most recent release which is now being succeeded by Windows 10 1903.

I would carry out the steps from my initial reply to reset your Windows Update components.

Have you checked the manufacturers website to determine compatibility?

Your configuration might not be listed yet, since it is just rolling out.

Ultimately, I would wait until the ISO file is available then upgrade offline using these steps:

Known issues for Windows 10 May 2019 Update version 1903


As far as Wifi any chance it is Qualcom inside USB adapter, if Qualcom then yes known issue.


I might create another user (Local) and when if try again see if this issue occurs on both users.

Would also suggest you run the first 5 steps in this tutorial to see if you have any corruption with current build.
