Windows 10: windows 10 version 1511 o.s. build 10586.545+INACCESSABLE_BOOT_DEVICE

hi,
every time i install windows 10 version 1511 o.s. build 10586.545 and reboot,
i get a INACCESSABLE_BOOT_DEVICE error and i have had to do a fresh install of windows 10 (using the repair tools.)
so i have no dump files but it seems to happen when the video card takes over control of the graphics for windows.
the one thing i do want to point out is i do have a Nvidia raid 1 setup on that box.

hi,
i can't find the bios version but based on msi it should be 1.11 if it's the last version.

to be honest if i don't have to do a bios update i rather not. (even as a IT Pro it scares me)

 

Your BIOS is dated 2007, from Windows 8 and higher Windows has started to communicate more with the BIOS, having the BIOS up to date is a high recommendation.

According to the logs your version is 1.10.

It is understandable that it may scare you, but it may need to be done.

I'm wondering why you aren't installing Win10.1607 instead of 1511.

If I read your post correctly, you're doing a Reset anyway

Directly Download a Windows 10 ISO from Microsoft

Read through this tutorial, it has lots of good advice for the best results.
Even if you don't go this route, there might be something in it that helps.

You might consider installing Win10 on a new drive if your budget allows. I'm not sure how Raid 1 might affect your install - a new drive would not be in the redundant array.
