Windows 10: Windows 10 version 1903 issues and fixes

new update version 1903 is a great update - however there are many that are having issues with the upgrade not working - many error codes showing with no resolution. My Suggestion here is for those that have more than 1 hard drive preferably a SSD drive in which you have 2 of them - The reason being is to allow 1 drive to handle your operating system and the other drive to handle all your programs. This will make it so much easier and much faster to update to 1903. If you run the update make sure you are using Microsoft's Download the Windows 10 media creation tool from Microsoft and follow the instructions. You have a couple of options that will normally work for you. However there might be issues even then and you will want to do a Clean install. (Remember have 2 drives 1 for the operating system and the other for everything else.) This link for a clean install will work - How to do a clean install of Window 10 latest version. How to do a Clean Install This will walk you through the whole process and since again having 1 hard drives wiping the C drive is quick and having the other drive hold all your important stuff all you need to do is set up your desktop with the links to your other drive - very easy and quick. Again the steps are for those that would have a min of 2 drives as only having 1 drive you would have to reinstall everything and this it time consuming.


One other note - there are other issues with windows 10 version 1903 that you might see - Fans running faster than normal and your CPU and GPU might have increased in temps - this is not one to just let go - high temps on your CPU and GPU increase the chance of your computer shutting down or even worse costly! When you notice this issue make sure to open your task manager and looks at the tabs - 1st one is Processes - this shows you the percentage of your CPU, Memory, Disk, Network etc. - The other is Startup tab - which shows you all the programs that start up when you turn on your computer - Here you can enable or disable programs that will cause your computer to run harder - Windows 10 version 1903 has a number that you do not need for example Cortana - an nice program but a resource hog. Make sure you know what you are disabling and when in doubt ask

Known issues for Windows 10 May 2019 Update version 1903


As far as Wifi any chance it is Qualcom inside USB adapter, if Qualcom then yes known issue.


I might create another user (Local) and when if try again see if this issue occurs on both users.

Would also suggest you run the first 5 steps in this tutorial to see if you have any corruption with current build.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Windows 10 issues!

I had a similar issue but it only happen on older hardware, Windows would install the stock drivers which would make it nearly impossible to access the internet. Luckily I had newest Intel and Realtek NIC drivers that ran perfectly on Win 10 x64 1607 version, installing those fixed my that problem.

This also can happen on a non-fresh install of WIn 10, when you try to boot from a different computer/motherboard, after a single failed boot, Windows will try to re-detect and re-install all of the drivers, which definitely won't be the most stable or newest.

I tried everything, flushing cache, resetting router, uninstalling the device completely from the list, removing the LAN connection entirely, none of those helped.
