Windows 10: Windows 10 wouldn't boot in safe mode

Hi Everyone


My computer running on Win 10 suddenly became very slow and the hard disk constantly runs up to 100% at single digit MB/swhile CPU and Ram look okay at 10% and 40%. I tried to do a disk defragmentation but it was still at 8% after i had it run overnight. I tried to do a full scan with free Avira - 4 hours later it was still at 4% but it detected two malware (Cryptominer and ExpKit.gem3). Avira got them quarantined.


I then tried to start in safe mode hoping the virus scan will be faster. I followed the shift-restart way which got me to the startup setting interface. But once i pressed restart, my computer just shut down and wont reboot. I then manually start the computer but it brings me to the normal login screen.


I then tried the msconfig method but now my computer has been black screened for 30 min. I tried to force restart by pressing power button but I'm still stuck on the blackscreen...


Is there anything I can do?


Separately, I copied all my files to an external hard disk before i get to here... Would it cause any problem if i try to connect it to a new computer?

Boot into Safe Mode on Windows 10  


I am stuck in Safe Mode in spite of following all the suggested steps to go back to Normal Startup - Like opening file location of msconfig.exe & running as Administrator. The computer I am trying to get out of safe mode has just been updated from Windows 7.

Can't boot into Normal/Safe Mode with Networking, only safe mode...

I could do with some pointers on resolving an issue. I can only boot into windows in safe mode in Windows 10. Normal mode and safe mode with networking doesn't work. The problem occurred after a windows update. I have removed the latest updates that were installed and cleared any pending ones but it still won't boot properly. I have also run the troubleshooter and tried to recovery to an earlier date which also doesn't work.
The laptop is a HP ENVY 17 notebook. At boot it just gets to the HP logo with the circular loading icon and no further and can only boot it into safe mode. Can anyone recommend the next steps? I have also tried the following;

• stopping startup items
• uninstalling hardware drivers
• removing recent software
• running troubleshooters at boot
• sfc scan
• diagnostic/selective startups with minimal services running

Would the fact that I cant boot into Safe Mode with Networking imply its a network driver related issue?
Bit of a dead end really, any help would be much appreciated
