Windows 10: Windows 1903 GPO Issue

The below excerpt from the Microsoft documentation on 1903 bugs is, at the very least, missing a potential resolution.

My organization needed to set the GPO of "Don't search the web or display web results in Search" to "Not Configured" in order for search to continue working after the 1903 update.

I have not seen any documentation mentioning this online, so wanted to put it somewhere.

Windows Desktop Search may not return any results and may have high CPU usage
Microsoft is getting reports that a small number of users may not receive results when using Windows Desktop Search and may see high CPU usage from SearchUI.exe when searching after installing KB4512941. This issue is only encountered on devices in which searching the web from Windows Desktop Search has been disabled.

Affected platforms:

• Client: Windows 10, version 1903

Next steps: We are working on a resolution and estimate a solution will be available in mid-September.

Local profile issue after upgrading to 1903


Hi roblinb

Not listed in the Known.

Known issues for Windows 10 May 2019 Update version 1903


As far as Wifi any chance it is Qualcom inside USB adapter, if Qualcom then yes known issue.


I might create another user (Local) and when if try again see if this issue occurs on both users.

Would also suggest you run the first 5 steps in this tutorial to see if you have any corruption with current build.

Windows Server 2003 - GPO Help!

Hi all,

I'm looking to create a GPO on windows server 2003, to simply overwrite a file each time a user logons in their profile.


Anyone got any tips for this?

I solved my problem!
My first issue was the installation files that weren't running. I fixed this by enabling windows installer through the "allow select windows applications to run" option in the GPO. My second issue was turning off the GPO on the fly. Unfortunately, there is no option within the GPO editor that allows for this. However, I did create a .bat file which I can run that will insert specific registry key values that will render the GPO ineffective. I also created a "re-enable GPO" .bat file that I run after I am through making the changes, this will bring the GPO back up.
