Windows 10: Windows Apps Crashing (Groove Music, Movies & TV, Settings, Windows Security at a Glance, etc)

Just as the title says. Trying to open any sort of video or audio file causes the respective default app to bring up an error saying "Package could not be registered". I can right click and use the old Windows Media Player, but I have to right click every single time I want to open something. I tried setting it as the default app, but whenever I try to do that Settings crashes. Also, trying to open one of the Windows Security programs just crashes the program instantly.


I recently had to downgrade from 1903 back to 1809 because it was causing memory corruption, making me think my RAM was broken when it's not. I don't want to have to reinstall WIndows for the 50th time, every time I reinstall this piece of **** another problem occurs. I would get Ubuntu or some other Linux distro but not all my games and programs support it, so I'm stuck.

Adding Media to Groove Music and Movies and TV Apps


I have all my media, music and movies sitting on a ReadyNAS 516 and have the shares mapped to Win 10 just fine. I can access all my media from the OS and other applications just fine. The issue is when I add "where to look" from both Groove Music and Movies and TV app, they never pick up my media and add to the available media for playback.

Very frustrating, any suggestions?

Movies and Tv app and also Groove music app crashes instantly in Windows 10 and its very frustrating. Already uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers but no use. Same thing happens again!
