Windows 10: Windows version 1903

Hello I have been having issues recently, I noticed that I was only getting anti virus definition updates for a long while, about 4 months now, then I just seen there was the Windows version 1903 ready for download and installing, I tried many times without success. It just kept giving me errors. So I thought I'd try tech help. I saw it was referring me to, so I clicked on that and got some help through something new called the 'HELP APP' Hmmm.

I guess things had change since I last had needed this much help with a windows OS.

Anyway I tried to explain to the 'help app' what was going on, what error I had been given while windows was trying to install, because it got that far, it always gets in and around 60% then fails for some reason.

Now onto my second concern. I eventually talked to a person, to tech support, the immediately wanted to remote access to my pc.. I was ify about ti as I had done so in the past and was really taken back when I found some of them to be doing strange and odd things on my system/s.


I did allow it but then windows popped up with a let such and such have full access so forth and I instantly hit 'NO'.


Since then I have been going back to try and get help but every time each and everyone of them wants access.

I know this to be a HUGE~ no no.

It does not matter if it is legit no one but you is suppose to have that sort of access to YOUR~ Computer.

So I'm a loss... I have tried talking to them about getting the iso.. the [1903] version will not work as of yet on my pc. I try to do a fresh install but I cannot just do that. If I lose access to this os that is actually working and running then what?

So I won't be able to go onto anything... All I can do is try a fresh install but like I said, that could go south real fast. If it does there goes everything, I won't have a system to go back to.

I have still my key and everything but I know better than to give that out to anyone.


Anyway I want others to chime in and lets talk about this, why is Microsoft offering help this help app and in one setting like MS headquarters explicitly says.. DO NOT accept any help like that, NO remote access .. that they would NEVER.. ask this of us yet here is this "help app" here are this tech people.. etc whomever trying to help out and that is where it goes, ends up, every single time.

So I am really confused here, I know anyone would be. We're told not to by MS but yet their employees say so, want it, the remote access to our pc's. What is going on there?

That's what I would like to know.


If I get any answers from a said person, that being someone "saying" they work etc they are employee at for MS then I want to talk to someone in charge. I'm sick of being told two very different things.

As far as Wifi any chance it is Qualcom inside USB adapter, if Qualcom then yes known issue.


I might create another user (Local) and when if try again see if this issue occurs on both users.

Would also suggest you run the first 5 steps in this tutorial to see if you have any corruption with current build.

Window 10, Version 1903 May Update

1. Why are all of the links that you listed not completed. On my computer currently it has Windows 10 Home Version 1803, installed 6/29/2018 with O.S. Build 17134.799. It has used space of 187 GB and 257 GB of free space.

I attempted to install Version 1903 Manually, through Settings/Windows Update, Windows 10 Update Assistant, and other ways without success. I have spent the better part of the past 3 days trying to get this accomplished on my laptop. It has worked on my
PC but not on the laptop.

Listed below are the different error messages that I get after the download stops each time at 90% and converts back to previous settings:

a. Windows 10, Version 1903 error message (0x80240034)

b. We couldn't install this update, but you can try again (0x800703fb)

c. We couldn't install this update, but you can try again (0xC1900101 - 0x4000D)

d. Feature update to Windows 10, Version 1903, We couldn't install this update, but you can try again (0x80070652)

If there are ways to get this latest update installed on my laptop, please let me know what I have to do in detail, step by step.

Windows 10, version 1903 update failure

Hmm, this is Windows 10 1809 which is the most recent release which is now being succeeded by Windows 10 1903.

I would carry out the steps from my initial reply to reset your Windows Update components.

Have you checked the manufacturers website to determine compatibility?

Your configuration might not be listed yet, since it is just rolling out.

Ultimately, I would wait until the ISO file is available then upgrade offline using these steps:
