How to Add or Remove Internet Explorer from Power Options in Windows

The JavaScript Timer Frequency setting under the Internet Explorer power option can slow down the java script animations and execution in Internet Explorer which in turn can save battery life. If you want faster browsing in Internet Explorer, then you might want to change this setting to "maximum performance" in power settings. Slower performance is a compromise to save battery life. By default, when using a PC on battery, Internet Explorer will automatically switch to "maximum power savings" for JavaScript Timer Frequency.

This tutorial will show you how to add or remove Internet Explorer and its sub JavaScript Timer Frequency setting in Power Options for all users in Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 10.

*Warning You must be signed in as an administrator to add or remove this setting in Power Options.

  2. Internet Explorer 11 not responding - Windows 10

    Hi Kat,

Corrupted Internet Explorer settings are one of the possible reasons why this issue is happening. We recommend removing Internet Explorer form the Windows 10, then add it again. Follow the steps below:

    • Open Control Panel.
    • Click Programs and Features.
    • Click Turn Windows features on or off in the left pane.
    • Clear the Internet Explorer 11 option.
    • Click OK, then Yes to confirm.
    • Click Restart now to remove the web browser.
    • To re-add Internet Explorer, repeat steps 1 to 3.
    • Select Internet Explorer 11 option.
    • Click OK, then Yes to confirm.
    • Click Restart now.
Keep us in the loop with the result.

  3. How do I remove Toponclick from Lumia 520 (WP8)?

I don't use Windows Phone so I'm moving this post to Mobile Devices.

If using IE10 or IE11 on Windows 8/8.1, I would check Internet Options> Programs> Manage add-ons for an add-on that could be removed.
