Remove Built in Adminstrator Media device from network

Thanks for the reply. I figured it out though - I ended up deleting the administrator folder in the Users folder and now the administrator media device is gone. Simple solutions are often the best

Please provide a copy of your System Information file. To access your System Information file select the keyboard shortcut
Win+R, type msinfo32
and click OK . Place the cursor on
System Summary. Select File, Export and give the file a name noting where it is located. Click Save.
Do not place the cursor within the body of the report before exporting the file.
The system creates a new System Information file each time system information is accessed. You need to allow a minute or two
for the file to be fully populated before exporting a copy. Please upload the file to your OneDrive, share with everyone and post a link here. Reports in normal mode preferred. Please say if the report has been obtained in safe mode. If the report is in a
language other than English, please state the language.

Please upload and share with everyone fresh copies of your
System
and Application logs (two files) from your Event Viewer to your One Drive and post a link here. You can remove the earlier copies of the logs from your OneDrive.

To access the System log select the keyboard shortcut Win+R, type
eventvwr.msc and press the ENTER key. From the list in the left side of the window select Windows Logs and System. Place the cursor on System, select Action from the Menu and
Save All Events as (the default evtx file type) and give the file a name. Do the same for the Applications log. Do
not provide filtered files. Do not place the cursor in the list of reports before selecting Action from the menu. Do
not clear logs whilst you have a continuing problem.

For help with OneDrive see paragraph 9.3:

Thanks! I got back Administrative Tools folder.

However, scannow reported that some items could not be repaired, by way of example Code: 2016-06-10 10:41:44, Info CSI 000053d9 [SR] Cannot repair member file [l:15]"PrintDialog.lnk" of Microsoft-Windows-PrintDialog.AppxMain, version 10.0.10586.0, arch amd64, nonSxS, pkt {l:8 b:31bf3856ad364e35} in the store, hash mismatch 2016-06-10 10:41:44, Info CSI 000053c2 [SR] Cannot repair member file [l:16]"Devices Flow.lnk" of microsoft-windows-devicesflow.appxmain, version 10.0.10586.0, arch amd64, nonSxS, pkt {l:8 b:31bf3856ad364e35} in the store, hash mismatch 2016-06-10 10:41:43, Info CSI 0000538f [SR] Could not reproject corrupted file [l:56 ml:57]"\??\C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs"\[l:16]"MiracastView.lnk"; source file in store is also corrupted
There are possibly other similar entries in CBSLog, and they worry me. Is it permitted to ask someone to view the complete log, and advise me further, as my system has seemed quite wonky even after a professional clean installation, and swap out of my old MFD for a new one, because of incompatibility issues. My computer has not been tested for Windows 10.

Could what is going on be rooted in the above?

RE : scannow reported that some items could not be repaired

In the same Command Prompt (Admin) windows, copy and paste this command...........

dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

> press Enter.
Again it will take some time.
When finished, it will give you a report.

If at the end you get an error message " Source files could not be found " (edited) , use the following instructions:

Use the Tech Bench link to download your version of Windows 10.
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/softw...load/techbench

Make sure you pick the Same Edition, Language and Bit-version your computer is now running.

Once you have the iso downloaded, right click at the ISO > click Mount > leave it there.
Then open the elevated command prompt and copy and paste this................

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:wim:H:\sources\install.wim:1 /limitaccess

Note : H is the drive where the iso is mounted. Change it if your driver letter is different.

When it is completed, you should get the report that the operation is successful.
Now run the sfc /scannow again. It should be ok this time.

Rather than "Source files could be found " I got the opposite, and
Code: Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.10586](c) 2015 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved. C:\WINDOWS\system32>dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool Version: 10.0.10586.0 Image Version: 10.0.10586.0 [==========================100.0%==========================] Error: 0x800f081f The source files could not be found. Use the "Source" option to specify the location of the files that are required to restore the feature. For more information on specifying a source location, see Configure a Windows Repair Source. The DISM log file can be found at C:\WINDOWS\Logs\DISM\dism.log C:\WINDOWS\system32> C:\WINDOWS\system32>

I apologize.
I was in a hurry to go out grocery shopping and I made a mistake.
I meant " Source files could NOT be found." I omitted the word " not ".

Please follow my instructions of downloading Tech Bench iso file, and the rest of instructions. Post #4.
Thank you.

Chipwood,

Make sure of the followings :
1. You did use the Tech bench link I gave you.
2. You did pick the Same Windows 10 Edition, Language and Bit-version you computer is now running.
3. Pay attention to the Note included in the instructions.......
Note : H is the drive where the iso is mounted. Change it if your driver letter is different.
Is the iso you mounted also in drive H ? If not, you have to change it to the actual driver letter your iso is mounted.

Are the above 3 all checked and affirmed ?

I chose
Windows 10 64 bit. For language it was English, there being no other signs that my system is multi language and seeing mention of en-US.
Sorry to be so dim, but where can I confirm what setting I need. There's also on for English International.*Confused

Drive was changed as appropriate

I am sorry.
I have to bow out on this because I am not certain I know the correct answer.

Please wait a bit for someone to come along.
Good luck.

Hi chipwood. You do indeed need the one called English International. MS being an American company considers UK as being English International.

THAT is the area I am not certain of. That is why I decided not to continue.
The fact that the OP is residing in UK does not necessarily mean his/her computer is also running English (United Kingdom).
There is a tutorial to determine the architecture of the Windows 10 the computer is running. But then it will require the OP to have an original Windows 10 Home iso file. It might get complicated and I am not knowledgeable enough to handle that.

You are probably right on all counts.

Thank you. For future reference the tutorial you have posted is for determining which ISO you have. A better tutorial is the one to determine which edition you have installed: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/2...installed.html

As a matter of fact, both mine and yours are not exactly applicable.
The key of the discussion is to know exactly which English version the OP need to choose when downloading the iso from tech bench.

This is the tutorial I should have posted:
How to See System Default UI Language of Windows 10
