Windows 10: Bluetooth On Off toggle Missing From Settings In Windows 10 Pro

I am running Windows 10 pro on a Hp Pro-book Laptop.

I also connect to a monitor with a HDMI cable through my laptop and using a Logitech bluetooth keyboard when using the monitor.

Working all good until the last wave of updates from Windows and now my bluetooth keyboard will not connect to my laptop so I can use the monitor away from the laptop.


After checking the Devices App in Settings in Windows 10 I noticed that the bluetooth On Off toggle has disappeared.

What is there is My keyboard's name and a message saying bluetooth is turned off.
Okay so where do you turn bluetooth on?

I have gone through the Windows Troubleshooter several times and the best Windows can offer is "The drivers are the best for the bluetooth device"

Windows won't uninstall the keyboard either so maybe I try and re-paired the keyboard again to my laptop.

The keyboard will work with my iPad like it should so it is not a issue with the keyboard

Any suggestions please.

Bluetooth Toggle on/off issues.

Hi,

Recently I updated to windows 10 home from windows 7 home basic. everything works fine except for one, I don't know whether it sound as an issue but I feel like the Bluetooth on/off toggle switch is missing. When I hit the Bluetooth button in the action
centre, it takes me to settings and directly starts searching for nearby Bluetooth devices. I use an HP laptop which came with HP's own wireless assistance from which I could toggle my Bluetooth as well as WLAN. But as of now, the wireless assistant no longer
compatible with Windows 10

I suppose there must be a toggle Switch for turning Bluetooth on/off.

If that is not considered a bug or an issue, sorry, my bad. but please consider it as a question.

Thanks for your reply but the Bluetooth icon has disappeared from the Action Center. I have read that Microsoft are working on the problem of the loss of Bluetooth connection so I have connected a USB keyboard and will wait until a update comes through the windows updates. Thanks again

Drew,

Go to HP's support section for your model and download then install the Bluetooth driver. That will overwrite whatever corruption is stopping Windows from knowing that you have a Bluetooth card [evidenced by the lack of the on/off switch in Settings, Devices].

Don't simply try using Device manager to check for updates to misbehaving hardware because it cannot tell that the current driver is corrupted so it will just look at its version number and say it is the best version.
