1. BSOD playing Diablo 3 and other games after clean install of Windows10

Hi Forum,

I have a Problem with BSOD's after I made a clean install of Windows 10 yesterday. I have had several BSOD's now within 24 hours and tried different windows repair tools (Windows Repair AIO from Tweaking.com) which didn't help. I also checked my drivers for actuality but as far as I can see (I am clearly no expert) they are up to date.

Please find my DM Log Collector file attached. I would be really greatful for any help as this is driving me mad, so thanks in advance

:)

2. APPcrash event Logs

The games are mostly League of Legends from Riot games and Diablo 3 from Blizzard entertainment, along with a few random games from Steam. Everything on the computer works perfectly it is only when I play a game that I get an application error. I have
not made any changes to the system other than upgrade to W10 and I was still getting the problem before the upgrade. I have done the clean boot, checked memory (Memory Diagnostics), updated drivers, clean install of OS, uninstalled the games over and over
in case it was file corruption but nothing.

BSOD playing Diablo 3 and other games after clean install of Windows10

You are currently running an older version of Windows 10 (10.0.10240.16393), in order to troubleshoot this further we will want to make sure this same problem is occurring on the latest release of Windows. Please update to the 1607 branch (The Anniversary Update), use the Update Assistant if you cannot upgrade through Windows Update.

5. Hiho,

ok, so I had to reinstall Windows as the update Windows update crashed every time I wanted to update. Long Story short got my Windows updated to the latest Version and Diablo III back installed. Now 2 minutes ago another BSOD.

The DM log collector file is attached.

The latest crash dump is pointing towards DirectX, which may mean it's a graphics driver issue. To help us pinpoint the issue I would suggest running Driver Verifier.

I also noticed your motherboard firmware is several revisions out of date, here is the most recent update.

7. Hello,

ok, so I ran the Driver verifier and an hour later an BSOD appeared. I was able to stop the verifier but when I was trying to run the dm log collector another bluescreen appeared. Everything is now in the log file attached.

Regarding the BIOS update: I am not too comfortable with updating my BIOS as this PC is set up and overclocked by Cyberpower and as you can probably already tell from my questions and responses I am a total noob regarding BIOS and system changes. I am afraid that I will not be able to restore the old Settings with the overclocking again.

I hope the route with the Drivers is the correct way and solves my Problems.

As always thanks so much for your help.

BSOD playing Diablo 3 and other games after clean install of Windows10

The latest dump points to a video problem:
Code: BugCheck D1, {1f0, b, 0, fffff808cb45c771} *** ERROR: Symbol file could not be found. Defaulted to export symbols for dxgmms2.sys - *** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for nvlddmkm.sys *** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for nvlddmkm.sys Probably caused by : dxgmms2.sys ( dxgmms2+c771 )
You have a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 Ti card, driver version 376.33 dated 11.12.2016. This is the newest version available from Nvidia.

Remove and install latest Nvidia drivers:

I suggest completely uninstalling the Nvidia display drivers using Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) from WagnardMobile (near bottom of page) then get the latest driver for you Nvidia card here: NVIDIA Driver Downloads

Then do a custom install of only the NVidia graphics driver and the PhysX driver.

See if that gets rid of the problem.

If not, then you really need to apply the BIOS update. I'm not seeing any CPU overclocking, just RAM. It's running at 3000Mhz but it's default is 2133Mhz. You should be able to update the BIOS then set the memory speed to 3000Mhz if needed.

Same problem:
Code: BugCheck D1, {1f0, b, 0, fffff808cb45c771} *** ERROR: Symbol file could not be found. Defaulted to export symbols for dxgmms2.sys - *** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for nvlddmkm.sys *** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for nvlddmkm.sys Probably caused by : dxgmms2.sys ( dxgmms2+c771 )
Try lowering the RAm clock speed to 2133, see if that makes any difference.

If not, try stress testing your GPU, see if that shakes anything out.
===================================================
Follow this tutorials to stress test your GPU:
FurMark - GPU Stress Test - Windows 10 Forums

If you have a AMD APU instead of a discreet GPU, try UNIGINE 3D Benchmark..

Wouldn't hurt to do the same for your CPU.
===================================================

Follow this tutorial to stress test your CPU:
Prime95 - Stress Test Your CPU - Windows 10 Forums

Lastly, if none of the above show anything, test your ram.
===================================================
Follow this tutorial: MemTest86+ - Test RAM - Windows 10 Forums

MemTest86+ is a diagnostic tool designed to test Random Access Memory (RAM) for faults. MemTest86+ will verify that:

• RAM will accept and keep random patterns of data sent to it
• There are no errors when different parts of memory try to interact
• There are no conflicts between memory addresses

Memtest86+ runs from bootable media to isolate the RAM from the system, no other components are taken into account during the test.

BSOD playing Diablo 3 and other games after clean install of Windows10 [IMG]
Warning MemTest86+ needs to run for at least 8 passes to be anywhere near conclusive, anything less will not give a complete analysis of the RAM.

If you are asked to run MemTest86+ by a Ten Forums member make sure you run the full 8 passes for conclusive results. If you run less than 8 passes you will be asked to run it again.

BSOD playing Diablo 3 and other games after clean install of Windows10 [IMG]
Note MemTest86+ has been known to discover errors in RAM in later passes than the eighth pass. This is for information only; if you feel there is a definite problem with the RAM and 8 passes have shown no errors feel free to continue for longer.

Running 8 passes of MemTest86+ is a long and drawn out exercise and the more RAM you have the longer it will take. It's recommended to run MemTest86+ just before you go to bed and leave it overnight.

Take a picture when done and post in the forum please.

Also, turn off Driver Verifier. We already know the problem is centered around your video card. You can remove the Nvidia card and use the built-in Intel HD Graphics adapter and see how that runs. I expect it will run without problems. If it does then maybe it's time to return the Nvidia card for a replacement.

11. Hi all,

sorry for the long pause between feedback but I was abroad for some time.

I did the CPU, GPU and MEM testing. For the MEM testing I let it run three days (was visiting my girlfriend so left my PC running) nothing showed any result (or crash in case of the CPU and GPU test). Now a week after I did all that I was just installing a game (Black desert online) and another BSOD appeared. So it doesnt just seem to be whilst playing.

Before the BSOD (like for one hour) I noticed that when I was watching a film or even played youtube videos the sound and video was studdering every 3-5 seconds. Does that maybe have sth. to do with that?

DM-log and screenshot of MEM-test attached.

Thanks in advance.

Nothing useful in the latest dump.

Have you tried removing the Nvidia card and running with the onboard Intel video chip?
