update of windows 10 version1511 to 1607

Hello Chip Cooper,

If you have Windows 10 Pro Version 1511 Build 10586, You must first have 1607
Anniversary Update installed to use this standalone update!!!

(I confirm this is x86 Cumulative Update for
Windows 10 Version 1607 (KB3176934)). If you had 1607 installed it might work. Download ISO file for 1607 and upgrade or do a clean install.

In order to get this ASAP, per (as mentioned by Brandon LeBranc-MS Lead Engineer Windows Program Insider Team) just uninstall KB3176932, which will put your OS back to 14393.67---->then enroll in Insider Preview builds----->Release Preview option, reboot, run WU where it 'should/will pickup' KB317634---->rather quickly-no waiting a couple of hrs, then opt out completely from Insider Preview builds...

Worked perfectly...

 

It worked by uninstalling KB3176932, but it rolled back to 14393.0
Then it installed both:
Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB3176495)
Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB3176934)

They should have given it a different build number, i.e. 14393.83, since it is not exactly the same.

 

Yes indeed, MS has made this quite a confusing process, even Brandon LeBranc (MS title above), mentioned on one of his tweets, he really needs to get more concrete information on this--->re-release of 14393.82 OS build and the corresponding cumulative KB's...lol

I just received KB3176936 from Windows update. It seems this is the version for Non Insiders/Preview users.
It brought me to Build 14393.82

fixed issue with apps in the process tree as running even though they were set not to. now works as advertised.

 

Only just got this, 4 days after release! Thats a lot of fixes there and I hope they have fixed my frequent disconnections.

 

No problems as usual. . .not throwing rocks, albeit as usual I have no problems with an update. . .sure is nice to have a computer that does' have the problems a great deal of other members have. . .*Smile. . .sure hope no one has any problems. . .*Party

 

Installed flawlessly. Now if they only fixed all the other bugs like this one:





Or the action center that takes sometimes forever to open, especially when the PC has been running for a few hours. Sometimes it's even necessary to restart explorer.exe in order to open action center again.

So far Windows 10 has been a mixed bag for me. The UI is far superior to the one of Windows 8.1. But 8.1 had definitely less bugs than Windows 10 has.

 

Everything seems good with my PC after this update.
