I checked Compaq/HP's official site, and it looks like they don't even support my keyboard anymore lmao

At least I haven't gotten a crash or problem in a few days now xD

=o Windows 10 froze up again. It's very infrequent; in fact, it was like 3-4 days since the last freeze.
However, I did notice that it usually happens within 10-15 minutes of booting up the computer.
And while Windows 10 is somewhat frozen, I can still continue watching videos on youtube, but eventually chrome stops responding to xD

Edit: It just happened twice in a row, all within 10-15 minutes of booting up the computer.

Are you able to open taskmanager to see if anything heavily takes resources?

Nope. I can pretty much only move my mouse. The keyboard doesn't respond to anything.

Ok, so I have all the tests here. There is one problem that the health test detects. It's a Interface CRC Error Count, and it says that there might be communication errors possibly caused by a damaged cable, which I'm assuming is the SATA cable. I'm not sure if that's the cause of the problems, can you confirm?

Edit: I ran the CPU stress test some more, and wow I've never seen my CPU at 100% load It usually barely goes past 40-50 celsius, but this time it reached 66 celsius at its highest point. In total, it passed 4 tests. I stopped it a bit early, because I wasn't sure when it would end.

Keep an eye on the Interface CRC error, if it increases occasionally then you should worry about it.
This error typically means a problem with the hard drive, cable or motherboard.

Ok, I waited a few days and the CRC Error amount hasn't changed.
I know for sure that the freeze only happens within 10-15 minutes of the computer starting up.
So its messing up somewhere in the beginning of the boot, but not always since its like once every few days.
What should I try doing next?

    Clean boot
    Please try the following:
    • Open taskmanager
      • Go to the tab startup
      • disable everything
    • Search msconfig and open it
      • Go to the tab services
      • Check 'hide microsoft services'
      • Uncheck all other services
      • Click apply and click ok
    • Reboot if asked
See if the problem persist, if the problem does not persist enable in the startup tab in taskmanager 1 item and in the services tab in msconfig also 1 service, reboot and see if the problem persist. Keep doing this until you find the culprit or there is nothing left.
If the problem still persist, try booting in safe mode and see if the problem still persist

I reasoned that the problem was that the Nvidia card and Windows were both trying to use the same system memory, so I tried disabling various OS functions that use 'spare' system memory. I have found that disabling the superfetch service stops the freezing on my system (Nvidia GeForce 210 + 4CoreDual-Sata2 with 4GB memory). If you have an SSD hard disk it is recommended that this is disabled anyway.

    Hey axe0,

I finally decided to check the last suggestions you gave me.

I booted into safe mode twice, and on the 2nd time, Windows froze after about 10-15 minutes.
Also, restarting after the freeze sometimes causes the computer to hang when loading the OS.
The other 50% of the time, the computer starts up fine and has no problems no matter how long it is on.
So I think it has to be something wrong with Windows because crashing in safe mode eliminates:
    -Video Card
    -Start up programs
-Most of the drivers, except the basic ones.

    We already tested the following:
    -HDD
    -CPU Stress Test

And the only things I haven't tested are:
    -RAM
    -Getting completely new peripherals components.

What do you recommend? Should I reinstall Windows 10?

Also, sorry it took so long. I was busy with college.

MemTest86+ needs to be run for at least 8 complete passes for conclusive results. Set it running before you go to bed and leave it overnight. We're looking for zero errors here. Even a single error will indicate RAM failure.

    Hey axe0,

I ran MemTest86+ for 13 passes, and its still going, but there are no errors so far.
I know the required amount is 8, but do you know the max number of passes possible?

Also, what should I try doing next for testing?

My next suggestion would be to check for dust / reseat components carefully and properly.

  15. Artekis Win User
I already dusted it a few weeks ago, but I can go reseat some of the components such as the RAM, Video Card, and HDD.

If that doesn't work, should I try reinstalling Windows 10?
