Grandma used our comp and signed herself as ADMIN.

Grandma is visiting, she thought she was trying to find games, and ended up signing up as Administrator. We tried changing back, it will not let us. We added me as a second user, and changed me to admin, and grandma to standard user, BUT all our desktop saved files and apps are now under her sign in.

    PLEASE help.
We are afraid to delete her so we do not lose all the saved apps, files and pictures.

    Thank you

    :)

Removed a Microsoft account but it was first signed in with a local account and now the local is gone when I removed the Microsoft account

I was disconnecting a Microsoft account from the comp. and it was signed in with our local account. When I removed it, the local account is no longer there. How do I get the local account back? Is there a way?

    Admin settings

The previous user of my computer set herself up as admin. She no longer works for the company and I am unable to access her account to switch settings. Is there anyway around this?

    Don't delete the account, no.

It sounds like she was using your account and then linked her email address to it (easy to do).

In the account with all of your documents etc go to Settings > Accounts > Your Account and check if there is a email address assigned (where the blue arrow is)..

If her email address is there, change the account to a local account (red arrow) and then change it back to a Microsoft account using your email address if you want.

    See:
Local Account - Switch to in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums
Microsoft Account - Switch to in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums

If not please explain in more detail more what you mean - when you sign on to the account what is the user name shown? Whose password is used? What do you see on the screen above?

"The dog ate my password!" stories like this are typically from some youngster who has come into possession of a secured laptop etc., by dubious means, and hopes that someone will help them to break in. If they don't have the energy or nous to find out by themselves, I would not help them to do it.

Thank you VERY much Halasz. I was able to back to a local account. At least now we have access to everything saved on the desk top. Appreciate it.
