    How can I turn Windows Defender off?


    Windows Defender keeps turning itself back on and deleting files that I need without conformation. Every time I try to go disable the service completely, the options are greyed out like this like shown in the picture. I am also denied permissions through command prompt, as shown in the second picture. Is there a way I can make it so the the options are no longer greyed out and make the service not start on startup?

    I also tried making an exclusion in Windows Defender to make it so it doesn't scan the C:/ drive, it worked at one point but now after a complete OS reset, it wont let me add an exclusion because I need elevated permissions. I don't really know why they call it "your pc" if you can't change half the settings they throw in there. I'd appreciate it if anyone could tell me how to make it so I have absolute control of my system, thank you!

    How can i turn Windows Defender off?

    Your installed AV program should disable WD. Did WD "re-enable" after the Creator Update?

    Did you try uninstalling/reinstalling your AV program and see if that will shut down WD?

    As you know WD is part of the Win 10 OS and cannot be installed.

    Did you try the steps listed in Turn On or Off Windows Defender in Windows 10?

    No, I do not work for MS and I have not yet been offered the Creator's Update.

    How can i turn Windows Defender off?

    I have my own virus protection that is vastly better that defender. I do not want defender on my computer let alone being forced on. after updating to the creators update i am unable to turn defender off. This is unacceptable. I try to turn it off, Get
    a UAC prompt, and no matter whether i choose to give permission or not defender will not shut off. Please tell me how to turn defender off or completely remove it from my system.
