How to Manage App Execution Aliases in Windows 10

Starting with Windows 10 build 17063, you can now manage app execution aliases for Microsoft Store apps.

Apps can declare a name (alias) used to run the app like an executable file from a command prompt. If you like, you can turn on or off allowing the use of the alias for an app. This can be handy if multiple apps use the same alias.

If you turn on the alias for an app, you will be able to run the .exe name (ex: "Spotify.exe") for the app (ex: "Spotify") in a command prompt to open the app.

If you turn off the alias for an app, the .exe name (ex: "Spotify.exe") for the app (ex: "Spotify") will not be recognized in a command prompt unless another app uses the same .exe name and is turned on.

This tutorial will show you how to manage app execution aliases for your account in Windows 10.

EXAMPLE: App execution alias turned off and on for "Spotify"

  3. Webcam Triggering 'Attempted Execute Of No Execute Memory' BSOD - Windows 10

    Hi,

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community.

ATTEMPTED EXECUTE OF NOEXECUTE MEMORY Blue Screen of Death error appears when a device driver attempts to execute a program from a non-executable area of the memory. An error in the RAM (Random Access Memory) can also cause this BSOD error.

If you are using a built-in webcam, then, update the webcam driver and check if that helps.

    • Press 'Windows key + X' and choose 'Device Manager'.
    • Under 'Imaging devices', right-click on the webcam driver and update the driver.

Also I suggest you to follow the steps from the below article and check if it helps.

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
