  1. Microsoft account not showing devices correctly after hardware changes

I've got 6 Windows 10 devices (5 PCs, 1 laptop) registered with my Microsoft account (all 6 were upgrades from Win7). My son's PC's motherboard died, so I built a new system (for me), and gave him my PC. However, I put his hard drives in my PC, and put my hard drives in the new system.

I've turned on both systems, logged in using my Microsoft account, and verified both systems show they are activated with a digital license linked to my Microsoft account.

Here's the problem: When I log into my new system, I use my Microsoft account login. When I go to my account online, and show devices, all 6 devices show up. My new PC is shows up, however when I show device info, it still shows my old PC information.

My son's old PC still shows up as one of the devices, however it says it's 'turned off'

When I log into my old system (now my son's PC) using my Microsoft account, the list of devices changes so that my son's PC shows up twice, and my new system doesn't show up at all.

What should I do? Should I remove the 2 mixed-up devices from my Microsoft account, and then relog in? I'm afraid I'll loose my licenses if I do that.

    :)

Unknown devices on my Microsoft account

Hello Flemmingk, Microsoft account not showing devices correctly after hardware changes :)

Could these other devices be from friends that you may have signed in to your Microsoft account on for something?

Either way, you can remove these devices.

Afterwards to be safe, I would recommend to change the password of your Microsoft account, and enable two-step verification if you haven't already.

Unknown devices on my Microsoft account

    Thanks Brink
I get different reactions every time I try to delete a device, but the result is that I cannot remove the devices.
I'll go back to local accounts and delete the Microsoft account.
I changed to Microsoft account because I wanted to use the Continue on PC feature. This feature doesn't work so I think that I'll just forget about it.
    Thanks for your interest.

Microsoft Account not showing Windows 10 Licence

I had a notebook with local users and a copy of Windows 10 Pro activated. So I decided change the local user into a Microsoft Account to link my license with my MSA.
On the device it's allright, now teh activitaion tab shows "Windows is activated with a digital license linked to your Microsoft account". But my MSA doesn't list this device in devices list. I have other devices activated that are listed, but not this one.
Anyone know what's happening? Why my device is not listed in MSA?
