Windows 10: No Windows 10 Administrator account

I am in the middle of a problem where I am stuck in the Microsoft "Automatic Repair" loop.

While stuck in this loop I tried changing the 'recoveryenabled' setting to 'No', only to find that my system does not have an 'Administrator' account.

I thought, obviously incorrectly, that when I created only a user account and gave it Administrator privileges that would "become" the Administrator account.

How can Microsoft let a system be created where no one can log on as Administrator and then only allow THE Administrator, not AN Administrator make certain important changes which you find out that you need only after you need them?

Anyway, I re-enabled the 'recoveryenabled' setting and am back to the Automatic Repair loop.

My question is, once I fix the non-boot problem or restore the system, how do I create what Microsoft deems the REAL Administrator's Administrator so I can administer my system when I need to in the future?

Strange Windows 10 User Account issue.

Unfortunately I had done those steps numerous reboots, it just, reappears for no good reason. The base account isn't even a Microsoft account, it's a local account.

I haven't quite tried the built in administrator account on W10, but so far in my experience on my own computer, the built in account seemed to have absolutely no more control than I did on my own.

It's just strange, I go in, it warns me twice about deleting the account, then it's gone. Reboot, and it's back?

EDIT: Just to specify, both command line and Netplwiz both say only HIS account exists on the computer, it doesn't list this rogue account. This is what I meant in my first post about the fact that even Windows doesn't seem to believe it exists, HALF the time. *Frown

Look at this thread,How to Delete a User Account in Windows 10, it may help. You can try the various methods.
Make sure you are using an administrative account when removing the account or log on using the Administrator's account.

Or, if you are patient and know what you are doing, manually remove it.

Change Microsoft Account Details in Administrator Account


Hi Daryl, welcome to the Ten Forums.

It's quite easy in fact, simply switch the account in question first to a local account, then switch back to a Microsoft account, this time using your wife's MS account credentials.

Notice that before doing this you need to remove the new additional MS account on the PC, the one you created with her credentials. Windows allows only one user account for each email address, if the new account exists you cannot switch the original administrator account to an MS account using the same email address.
